Hi All,
We have just released an update to CCleaner Mac that should resolve this issue with MacOS Sonoma.
Please update to the latest version of CCleaner Mac, 2.9.187 and let me know if it resolves the issue for you.

Here it doesn't. I just re-download and re-installed CCleaner and the issue persists.
The installation file says it is version 2.9 but does not specify sub-versions

Is there any old plist file/folder/etc we could try to delete/clean up?

Are you trying to rollback?  You can get the 2.08.173 build from September here: https://download.ccleaner.com/mac/CCMacSetup208.dmg

I just pulled 2.09 from https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner-mac/builds which is labelled on the page as 2.09.187.  https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/fc3704c9ace0b4e04891af41c8904b105863f60f2529eda5749a701bbff84ff4/details shows a first submission date of 2023-10-19, which seems consistent with https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner-mac/version-history for 187.

I did have a copy of the 185 dmg lying around, which has a different hash (https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/785533a29545591882fb23a99f6a7d7a2d9aecbf3389f63a1d3c42455f3323bf/details) and a first submission date of 2023-09-26.

So this is consistent with the download on the builds site being current.  @Julius: check your dmg on VT to check which you have?

Working again.  Fix seemed to have worked with Sonoma.  Thank you!

Seems to be working for someone, which might point to you still having the older version somehow @Julius ?  Please check and confirm.

I just deleted CCleaner and reinstalled version 2.09.187 from the link you provided. It's not launching.

Can someone recommend good and not too expensive alternatives to CCleaner?

No, this is an official website, alternatives are not to be discussed

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest CCleaner, and still can't fix. The weird thing is that it worked when I first installed it, and now it stopped working. I don't know what happened to change things since it is on the same OS (Sonoma) as when I first installed.

Won't open from anywhere, Menu bar or from Applications folder or Finder. Please advise!

Do you mean that it only ran the once, and only when run from inside the installer?
If that is what is happening then it may be a clue to what the problem is.

Or do you mean that you could launch it previously but now can't?

Are you using an Administrator account or a Standard account?

Will CCleaner launch if you "run as administrator"?

We saw a similar thing some time ago with CCleaner for Windows, where for some standard users it would only run the once, and only from within the installer.
That turned out to be a user permissions issue.

I tried running CCleaner as administrator. Doesn't help, the app is not launching. Is anyone looking into that?

NOTE- A new thread started has been merged into this existing one to keep the issue in one place. (Nukecad).

Hi,

As already discussed here, CCleaner is to launching for a number of Mac users. I uploaded my console output here, maybe that helps. I would appreciate it, if some of your developers could look into it. This issue has been persisting for a while. I am of course using the latest version and uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times.

Thanks,
Julius

As far as I know v 2.18.073 fixed the Sonoma issue. (For most users).

So if you are still having a problem then yours may be a different issue.

Sorry but your console output means nothing to me, I'm not a Mac user - Have you raised a support ticket and given them those logs?
