jwall
Have ccleaner version 4 and Windows 7 Premium 64 bit. I upgraded avast from version 7 to version 8 and in application column in ccleaner, it lists avast 6 and avast 8. I've cleaned both, but there are always 5 log files that come back in the avast 6 section. Can anyone explain? I did an upgrade to avast 8, not a clean install (seems to be working fine) and I can't fine any reference to version 6 or 7 for that matter, unless I'm not looking in the right spot?? Looking for answers, thanks.
Moderators Andavari Posted April 4, 2013 Moderators Share Posted April 4, 2013 It's either a registry detection or a file/folder detection which is in the same place as the previous version. You could untick Avast 6 and ignore it, and then when Avast has another major version jump to lets say 9 try a clean install to see if that fixes the issue. D Bone
On my clean install with only avast! 8 ever installed, it still shows a check-box for version 6. It's been that way for a long time.
Moderators Nergal Posted April 5, 2013 Moderators Share Posted April 5, 2013 yes, this is because the reason that I said in the post above in fact even if you never installed 8 and only had 6, it would show both. login123
"...in fact even if you never installed 8 and only had 6, it would show both..." Thanks, good explanation. Have wondered about that for a while now. The CCleaner SLIM version is always released a bit after any new version; when it is it will be HERE :-) Pssssst: ... It isn't really a cloud. Its a bunch of big, giant servers.
