atmrover
Hi guys, Just registered. The only reason I did so was to report an issue that causes problems. CCleaner should not by default check the box to clean MS Anti-Malware, otherwise known as "Microsoft Security Essentials". Why ? Well because you wipe out the memory of the last scan, and every time I reboot, the icon for Security Essentials is orange rather than green - because it wants me to do a Malware SCAN again, even though I just did that. When I UN-checked this in CCleaner, that corrected the wrong behavior. Thus you should NOT have this checked by default, IMHO. Thanks guys, nice forum ! - Atmrover

eL_PuSHeR
Or, at least, CC should issue a warning before cleaning.
Winapp2.ini
I maintain that users should read the changelogs of each version, and check for changes like this, but I also don't think it should be on by default. winapp2.ini additions thread winapp2.ini github
Moderators Andavari Posted September 4, 2011 Moderators Share Posted September 4, 2011 read the changelogs I think a change log should be included with the software, or at the absolute minimum a what's new so people can see what's different. Now rather they read it or not is another matter.
Winapp2.ini
True, but both the Piriform download page and the FileHippo one do include change logs. winapp2.ini additions thread winapp2.ini github
Alan_B
The main reason for using the latest and the best version of CC is to remove more junk. The user can choose to play safe and not upgrade. Another option is to download the latest and NOT install until after :- Closing browsers etc. ; and Cleaning with current CC ; and then install the latest and ANALYZE and see how much more effective the latest CC is, and whether it will do you good or whether to revert.
