Moderators Nergal Posted May 28, 2009 Moderators Share Posted May 28, 2009 Hi there, Please find attached copy of embedded INIs in CCleaner v2.20.920. Thanks t still coming up as corrupt zip file on both my vista and XP machines with multiple unzip programs (Explorer, Universal Extractor) 7Zip did the best as it was able to look inside the Zip file where it sees a UNIX file called "embedded_INIs_v2.20" with was then able to open that unix file and find the ini files inside that. Not sure what archiver your using but. . . most people aren't going to be able to figure that one out ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Keithuk
Can you please use another browser for the time being? No we shouldn't have to for a simple zip file. Keith Windows XP 2002 SP3 IE 7.0 Martin2k Rorshach112 is the best
Glenn
Is there any reason not to post the embedded .ini on the ccleaner download site (perhaps on the builds page) when each new version of the app is posted? Note that there is no problem downloading the portable version (a .zip file) from that page.

Moderators Andavari Posted June 27, 2009 Moderators Share Posted June 27, 2009 (edited) Sorry MrT its a bad zip again. I've tried it 5 times and still won't open. Try this one, made with WinXP's built in zipper: Is it 7-Zip made Zip's that are causing the failure? Edited July 29, 2009 by Andavari Download link removed, as the INI's are outdated now. Keithuk
Keith, use 7zip it'll open itit's a two layer zip though MR T definitly needs to use a different zipper Why should you need 7 zip to open a zip file. Its always worked before though I do recall another bad zip file a while ago. Try this one, made with WinXP's built in zipper: Is it 7-Zip made Zip's that are causing the failure? Thanks Andavari that one worked as it should do. No I don't use 7 zip though I did install it once just to try it out. It didn't do anything that WinZip did so I removed it. Thanks again. pluto
I don't have any problem with WinRar 3.80...it's the best tool ever. Download it for free from here: http://www.rarlab.com/ I also tried WinRar 3.90 Beta 2(not the latest, 3) and it had a lot of problems with my Windows Vista x64 so I advise you to install WinRar 3.8. The good thing about WinRar 3.90 is that is has a sepperate installer for x86 and x64 operating systems! WinRar 3.80 works on both x86 and x64 systems! Have Fun!!! When you say CCleaner...you've said it all!!! There once was a member of this land, a humorous posting he planned, but when he posted by mods he was toasted, and now he has found himself banned. Moderators DennisD Posted July 1, 2009 Moderators Share Posted July 1, 2009 You can download WinRAR for free, but please note that it isn't free software. That's misleading to people who don't realise what a free download is. It means it costs nothing to download it, but it will be a trial version which you will have to pay for when the trial runs out. It isn't usual to recommend commercial software on this forum anyway, as there are plenty of freeware alternatives.

No, it's not trial, it gives you 40 days to evaluate it and then when you open it it simply shows you a message to buy it and when you press close you can fully work with it! It clearly states: 40 days trial copy Why put up with the nag to buy it, just grab a good freeware or open source archiver, 7-Zip comes to mind.
