  1. not at all. but its simply a snake attempting to eat its tail. It cant win. And neither can anyone in this discussion. There is no end to it. After studying dozens of religions, different scientific theories, etc. I have come to the realization, that it is all for naught. I mean, there are many problems in life that i CAN solve-so leave the big ones for the deities and archemedes.
  2. heavy topics dudes. lets all talk about cheeseburgers and fries.
  3. some isps guard their information and require a warrant for every little bit of info, and some are just too happy to turn it over. depends on the company and the jurisdictional legislation.
  4. you would be surprised what they can find out.
  5. why not? you can believe in democracy and despise your politicians.

you are a lot of fun sister.
  7. i think that religion is a very personal subject that invokes a lot of emotion in people. i dont believe that you can "rationally" or "scientifically" discuss it, because it is based on faith, and is not scientifically based as society has defined scientific. that is what makes it so special for those that believe-they dont need to rationalize it to others, because the basis needed to rationalize is flawed.
  8. i can tell you that NOTHING you put on your computer is lost indefinately- no matter what you do. and this applies to your cell phone as well. law enforcement can ALWAYS find out what you surfed, where you went on the net, etc. if you dont want your habits being exposed, the best bet is to not go places you dont want others to know about.

jalapeno peppers have a heat value of 1000-2000, while pepper spray (OC) has a heat value of 1,000,000. imagine the pain.
  14. people feel good by helping others. i know squat about computers. so i get others to help me. and they seem to like doing it. i know a lot about getting in shape and diet and stuff. so i like helping those that are overweight or weaker to get in shape and feel stronger and more healthy. it makes me feel good seeing them feel better and achieve their goals. we all use our strengths to help others with their weaknesses. that is pure good karma.

  16. I think the forums need more catagories to simplify finding things. I also think the forum could use another knowledgeable moderator or two to assist in the process. What i would find personally very useful is how to guides on various processes and projects. these keep people coming back. as well, the freeware list needs to go through and clean up with everything combined (maybe with user ratings attached. otherwise everything and everyone is pretty good here. this is my favourite forum.
  17. could someone explain to me with facts and figures the comparison between norton and other products? i continuously hear "bloated", but what is exactly bloated? compared to what? too much resources used? what are they? what are others?

yes, im in the police academy. its a lot of fun. tons of tests though. have to take piles of law, specialized drivers training, computer training, firearms, physical, practical scenarios, lots of polishing, ironing, shining, marching, working out, etc. i cant speak for the US, but in Canada it is a great job. Great pay, lots of benefits, pension, etc. with a ton of variety, and lots of room to learn and grow. the latter is why i joined. i actually took a pay cut.

lol! we have use of force training where we punch a punching bag until exhausted, then lie down on a mat and have to fight two of our classmates to get off of the mat. its training to help build our stamina and physical strength if/when we are engaged in a life or death encounter. unfortunately, this kind of training is needed to perform our duties.

it is supposed to help us articulate in court exactly how it feels for a suspect to experience it, and helps us understand how painful it is so that we wont wantonly deploy them on suspects. the taser completely incapacitates you and is painful-but only lasts 5 seconds a blast. the pepper spray is BRUTAL and lasted 45 minutes-feels like hot coals being rubbed into your eyes-but you can still fight and is not incapacitating. i think i would rather the taser-but some people say otherwise.

    ouch

i got subjected to being pepper sprayed and tasered in the last month. damn those hurt. ive got the burns to prove it.
