have you tried turning it off and deleting it from add/remove as suggested? seems like the best route to me. Good luck, and let us know.

Yes! Add/remove should do the trick if you turn off avg first. Also, any good virus program will update a lot, but not reboot a lot.

Finds entries that point nowhere and are of dubious value. I always delete them, and have never experienced a problem.

I have an emachine and have run issues umpteen times with no problem. I suspect a virus got you. Why not run your restore disc that came with the emachine? That will probably fix the problem.

Did you use system restore? If so, you can undo it and get your program. There should have also been a key provided when you purchased the program. If you have the key, download again. You can contact their customer support and have them check their records for you.

Create an exception in your firewall and see if that helps.Also open IE, go to tools and check the security level. I use medium which is usually high enough. You can access the firewall by opening all programs, accessories,security center. If the option auto update is seleced in options, and the cleaner cannot access the net, it may cause a problem.

Are there any products on the market that will actually get all the pieces when a program is deleted, or is that wishful thinking? Sure would save a lot of trouble!

Where was the value returned to indicate the entries in the registry were not deleted? I doubt someone would look for the problem after having already been notified?
