  1. First off, please be nice. We are not 3 years old... I wasn't going to post anything, but this thread is big and active. CCleaner is seriously lacking documentation and this is the only thing really hurting it. About 90% of the posts on this forum about CCleaner, can be answered by the CCleaner Beginner's Guide. I have no idea when and if CCleaner will have a proper help file. I have talked to MrG about this matter long time ago. He said he was going to have me do it and put it on the CCleaner site, and then later. He said he was working on it, based off my Beginner's Guide. But, like I said, it was a long time ago. The CCleaner Beginner's Guide is probably bigger than most people think. It's averaging about 188,000 hits a day. Ok, take off 200 for my Rainbow Six: Vegas Clan Site. I am at 187,000 hits so far this month. It was at almost 1.9 million hits last year and I wasn't even hosting the CCleaner Beginner's Guide the whole year. I am excepting it to have more hits this year. I just don't think it looks professional for the help to be hosted by a different site, CCleaner is very big and popular, so why not included it on the CCleaner site or in a help file with the program. I am willing to do everything concerning the help documentation.
  2. There have been a few reports about this matter, I'm guessing they may have changed the registry path. I will look into the matter.

  5. I know what you mean, I am hooked on Mass Effect right now.
  6. Added Poll! I did use CCleaner Style for a while, but I found the Piriform Style to be my favorite. I just like the colors, easy on the eyes, and it also looks more professional. The CCleaner Style does need a little work to it...
  7. WINDOWS\ie7 is a backup of IE6, incase you want you uninstall IE7. After doing some resource on the matter. The folder is safe to delete if you are not going to uninstall IE7. As far as the reg files, I have no clue... There is also a folder called ie7updates in WINDOWS, which includes the IE7 hotfixes. It is safe to delete them if you are not going to uninstall the hotfixes.
  8. http://internetrotsyourbrain.com/ccleanerbeginnersguide/ Check out the Help section.
  9. I use Paint.NET a lot when I do screen caps.
  10. I have always removed all the entries that CCleaner finds and never once had a problem. Plus, you can make a backup of them. If you want to be safe, yes only remove the entries to programs you have uninstalled. Unchecking them will cause them to not be removed by CCleaner.
  11. Yes, I can confirm this. Renaming the registry backup will cause it not to save as a .reg file. Saving the registry backup as <filename>.reg will save it as a registry backup. I'll report it to man himself...

  13. New stuff will come, but we don't know what!
  14. They are commonly found in HKLM/SOFTWARE and HKCU/SOFTWARE. As far as having alot of registry entries. That's pretty much a myth with todays hardware, just watch your startup entries.
  15. That is a common problem with most registry cleaners. I don't think anything can be done.
  16. More or less... The Applications Tab will clean Firefox, Opera, and Safari browser cache. As far as applications, in very simple terms... It clears the recently opened files either by registry or a history file. If you use Office a lot, I would uncheck it, it has been known to reset your personal settings.

    They are portable already.
  18. AntiVir detected it as a virus. Microsoft is posting files with viruses. DO NOT USE, it will screw up your PC! Ok, not really... I figured it would detect it anyways...

Add hotkey CTRL+M to minimize IE windows to tray icon 4. 64bit version released (http://www.ie7pro.com/download.php) 5. Google sponsored search added http://www.ie7pro.com/
  20. I also dumped all 3rd party firewalls. I use Windows Firewall and my router.
  21. It's the same people you call on them 1-800 numbers for support. They barely speak English and are from India or something.
  22. TuneUp 2008 will delete them, but it is risky. MrG has talked to Microsoft personally and they agreed to not delete certain hotfixes.
