  2. If you formatted the drive and then installed Windows 8.1 again. I don't think you will be able to recover anything, the files have been overwritten all ready.
  3. They are aware of the issue. If we get any news, we will be sure to let everyone know.
  4. Just download the latest version from here: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/professional Then put in your serial number.
  5. I can't really remember how I use to keep track of the winapp2.ini back in the day, but I think I did use the date. The year first does work better, that way you can look at the last few numbers and see if it has changed or not.

  11. It all really depends on the OS. Some files will be automatically recreated by the OS after cleaning them.
  12. 13. Your welcome. Just glad I could help out. Thanks for posting about the issue, we would have never realized that the entry didn't work. Thank you for being a loyal CCleaner user and forum member.
  14. You are right, it's CrashDumps. It will be up to the official Piriform staff, if they use that new entry or not. As far as the cloud goes. I have no information on that, that is beyond me. I don't work for Piriform (technically), I just help out.
  15. You have to extract them with a command line parameter. /EXPORT https://www.piriform.com/docs/ccleaner/advanced-usage/command-line-parameters Old Entry [NVIDIA Install Files] ID=2357 LangSecRef=3024 Detect=HKCU\Software\NVIDIA Corporation Default=True FileKey1=%SystemDrive%\NVIDIA|*.*|REMOVESELF FileKey2=%SystemDrive%\NV|*.*|REMOVESELF New Entry [NVIDIA Install Files] ID=2357 LangSecRef=3024 Detect=HKCU\Software\NVIDIA Corporation Default=True FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\NVIDIA Corporation\Installer2|*.*|RECURSE FileKey2=%ProgramData%\NVIDIA Corporation\Downloader|*.*|RECURSE FileKey3=%ProgramData%\NVIDIA Corporation\CrashDumps|*.*|RECURSE
  16. I actually looked into this myself. The NVIDIA Install Files entry seems to point to folders that don't exist anymore. Seems to be an old entry, I have created a new (updated entry) and submitted it. Hopefully it will get approved and in the new update. [NVIDIA Install Files] ID=2357 LangSecRef=3024 Detect=HKCU\Software\NVIDIA Corporation Default=True FileKey1=%SystemDrive%\NVIDIA|*.*|REMOVESELF FileKey2=%SystemDrive%\NV|*.*|REMOVESELF nVidia drivers no longer installs to the C: drive. It goes in Program Files and ProgramData. BTW, thank you for the heads up. Plus, I haven't messed with the entries in years. I was a little rusty.
  17. CCleaner Professional enables you to set up Active system monitoring. It can monitor your PC and detect whether it will benefit from a clean. When enabled, CCleaner will continue to run in the background and you’ll see an icon in the system tray. Do not close this icon or you will disable automatic monitoring and cleaning.
  18. What error is it? What version of Defraggler are you on? What version of Windows are you on?
  19. Make sure you have downloaded CCleaner here: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download If you did, it could just be a false positive. In which, it does happen time from time.
  20. CCleaner is not deleting Google Chrome History? There are a few workarounds to fix the problem. There is not a problem with CCleaner, it's because Google Chrome is cloud based. #1) Chrome is synced to your Google account. Therefore all browsing information is stored there and won't be cleaned. You can either disable History from the Chrome sync settings, or stop syncing. Go to Menu, Settings, Sign in. This will fix the problem most of the time. There is another workaround, if for some reason the above does not work. #2) When a process associated with Google Chrome is running during the cleaning operation. All internet browsers need to be closed in order for them to be cleaned properly by CCleaner. *There is a setting in Chrome that allows background applications to run after Chrome has already been closed. Go to Menu, Settings, Show advanced settings... uncheck "Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed". Hopefully this will fix the problem!
  21. From what I am guessing, when a new version of CCleaner is released. The Cloud is silently updated too. But, I could be wrong.
  22. Actually there is. It's winapp2.ini. It can be found here. You can have it remove certain registry keys. I have done it back in the day. You could set it up to clean multiple reg keys for different programs, if that is what you want to do. Just have it detect a common .exe in the Windows or system32 folder. Just be cautious and know what you are doing if you make a winapp2.ini file.
  23. Sorry, to say this. But, you won't find a tool that will do that. Microsoft has changed the way they store browsing history. It's not just CCleaner, it's all of them. CCleaner can still cleans a lot of stuff, but we aren't sure if there will ever be a way again. Hopefully, there will be...
  24. I am tired at work. I deleted the post.
