  1. Thanks. I checked on Monday thinking they should have done one by now.
  2. just as a FYI, the fact you hit the Continue, OK, Next or Agree button when you have a End User License Agreement is legally binding that you have read, understood and agree to everything stated in the EULA. (hey, even I have never read one of those buggers from start to finish - hands up anyone who has ???)
  3. My dad calls all the females he talks to Luv, like "Thanks Luv", which I find weird. But I greet my son "morning mate" or "how's it going mate" all the time. It's just what you're used to...
  4. Maybe try rebooting the pc after you 'fix' the registry.
  5. Mate... Mate... Maaaate.... get off the Pc and visit your local watering-hole more often.... (my mum used to say 'mad as a two bob watch')
  6. and your chances of getting a fair dinkum authentic meal in any of them - buckleys and none !!!
  7. happens to me sometimes, the last part it seems to do is compact FF databases, and every now and then, it'll stay on 98% for a few minutes as it does it's thing. leave it alone and it gets there in the end. I guess the longer between CC runs and the more it has to do will equate to the time this last part takes.
  8. I would agree that the c++ 1st version is as much a candidate for removal as it can be, not sure how you tell which is the earlier version for the msxml though? unless you are short on space, i'm with Andvari, leave them alone unless you know with some certainty that other software isn't dependant on them.
  9. see post #2 it varies slightly depending on your OS, but the system variable userprofile works it out.

    How to..

hover your mouse between the two columns in the column header row and your mouse will change, when it does, press and hold it down and drag it to the desired new width. or just double click it on the column border and it will auto-expand to the widest cell in the column.
  11. can you?: yes should you?: depends if those programs are required by another program, then you'll have issues. they can always be re-installed at any time. I've only ever uninstalled (then re-installed) those ones to fix corruptions or to upgrade. (I think msxml is only needed for XP and is included in win7 & 8)

    Keyboard keys

looks like they are phasing out SysReq, just checked the 4 keyboards in the house and 3 of them only show Print Screen. I guess it's not even still triggered if you hit Alt+PrtScr (Alt+PrtScr does the active window, just PrtScr does entire screen - even dual monitors if you have them)
  13. I wonder why people want their history cleared when they can start IE in 'private mode' and not have it recorded in the first place. I know private mode also doesn't save passwords, forms etc, but I figure if you want history wiped, why not wipe all personal data if you want your tracks covered. (that is in no way derogative, i'm just curious )
  14. @squeeze, this would be more help if posted under the WINAPP2.INI thread. maybe a Mod can do the honours.
  15. maybe even take it a step further and NOT have File Finder delete at all. it should be help enough that it lists for you the duplicates and gives you an idea of the file sizes involved. with all the manually investigation needed to double check the results, the time/effort required and the hugely potential negative outcome. this would also allow Piriform to 'take a step back' from getting blamed by novice users you will just do as the program tells them. I can only see this feature bringing a negative mo-jo to the product.
  16. doh - good point guys, I completely forgot the original problem in trying to suggest ways to get the PC to talk to the camera.
  17. USB disk mode is also known as Preview mode. Basically, depending on camera type, there are two main modes, taking a shot and looking at your shots. Older cameras wanted to be put in the 'not taking shot' mode to talk to a PC, some modern ones are now just doing it automatically. Sometimes there is an indicator/LED that tells you, on the camera, that it is talking to the PC. Any such indication on your camera? have you removed the memory card, wiped the contacts and re-inserted? take a few shots and see if you can preview them. that'll exclude the card itself from the problem list.
  18. change the wording to Show Solid State Drives or Show SSD's as it stands you are saying Show Solid State Drive drives. just like ATM machines and PIN numbers. small gripe but for a well used & loved program, why not get the small stuff right.
  19. update. Show SSD Drives is now working. Haven't changed the DF version, but just ran CC4 reg cleaner and went into DF for some maintenance and noticed my SSD was no longer listed. problem sorted. (for me) if those users who had this issue want to try the same sequence, do a reg clean at your own risk of course - cleaning the registry is never 100% safe.
  20. corrupted how? are you getting CRC errors? how many files are we talking about? you are assuming (maybe correctly but maybe not) that DF is to blame, any reason not to believe those files were already corrupted before the defrag? Edit: is it an internal or external drive?

    Google Glass

just wondering, speaking of the BT ear sets, how many you guys see in your part of the world. here, I'd be lucky to count 1 a day, to be honest, probably more like 1 a week would be the average. they had a bit of a popularity spurt, with the tradies and white-collars, about 8 years ago, but that only lasted, maybe, 2 years. i'm guessing/hoping, the same will be with these Glasses - or less so if that price stays up there.
  22. also, being brand new, hopefully it prompted you to make some CD/DVD's when you first turned it on. or there would have been a Create Recovery Disks (or similar) icon somewhere (Desktop, Start screen - not sure with Win8). any chance you did that - as that should have saved the OS, drivers and Sony supplied apps to those DVD's. otherwise Andavasri is right, you will need to go to the Sony website, plug in your model number and OS type and eliminate the drivers you already have working and look at the 'weird' ones, like Fingerprint sensors, or Card Readers etc. Basically, cross off whatever you currently do have and get the rest.
  23. does the PC (which OS?) still recognise the camera?. does Windows assign it a drive letter? do you get the bing-bing sound when you connect the USB cable?
  24. Keatah, think of it as doing the rest of us a favour if you do find a problem. sucks I know, with your recent history. and Yes to your question, CC doesn't 'see' iTunes without winapp2.ini
