  1. There is a program available by the name "CableNut" for free download on the internet.  If you use it you can store your present settings then let it optomize all your PC setting for supposely a faster connection.

I think the most logical way of seeing it is, "Running Things Wide Open."  I picked almost a MB on download.  The Cable Co I'm with advertise 284KB up and 3MB down.  I wasn't getting this until I used the program CableNut.  Now I usually average 400KB and 3.8MB down.

If you use it, be careful and select the proper OS as it lists more than one.

    Have a link?

  2. That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard and what did that trailor or game have to do with Gfx(I am assuming you are talking about a vido card).

What does anyone else who is a gamer here think about the game?

Looks awesome to me. I think someone else has a bad video card/monitor.

:) Thats the one coded by Merijn

Program: w00t; that program gave me a hint now its fixed :D

I will make a quick tutorial now :D

TransIcon: This does exactly the same as TransText, but is WAY smaller and more flexible. It uses a tweak to make the background color of the text below desktop icons transparent, and exits. The effect should last until the next boot, so a shortcut to this program in your Startup folder works perfectly. Needs command line parameters (add them to the 'Target' field in the shortcut) to specify the color you want the icon text itself to be in the form of hex values (e.g. FFFF00), RGB (e.g. 16711935) or words (e.g. white).

Note: this program is not useful on Windows XP, since that has support for this tweak natively.

  4. I've noticed that when I have Google accelerator Google webcelerator (active), CCleaner has a tendancy to freeze/crash/ or whatever term you prefer.

If I close out the google accelerator, then CCleaner starts right up.

It doesn't happen every time, but often enough that this should be addressed.

Last I heard they removed the download because it was so buggy and unstable. Just get rid of it for the time being.

  5. I've just started using CCleaner. The configuration allows you to decide which bits of Internet Explorer you want/don't want deleted, but I use Firefox which isn't mentioned. So though I unchecked the cookies box it still deleted them. Can I configure CCleaner for a browser which isn't IE?

Try looking under the Applications tab.

  6. I went here to test out my bandwidth after I got my new router.

    http://bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/

It said that my connection was 3.8 megabits. I have a cable connection through Adelphia.

What is your connection? I was just curious how my connection compared to other cable or dsl connections.

    Adelphia (in VA)

    Results:

    4.3 megabits per second

    Communications 4.3 megabits per second

    Storage 527 kilobytes per second

    1MB file download 1.9 seconds

    Subjective rating Awesome

  7. You might be right about the spelling of both words , I'll dig up the Dictionary..but I was trying to nudge DjLizard from silent slumber...

    Do you concur?

I thought Dj was the spell checker around here...

I've thought about being an english professor too actually. I help my fianc?e a lot, can spot typos in newspapers and on tv without trying. I've even gotten after Dj once or twice when he tried to correct someone, I think...

  8. Although I am not qualified to make recommendations because I don't use it much...... B)

I don't use it much either, though I know it's better and less bloated because I have an excellent teacher.

Concurr...(Dj correct my spellin pleese)..I like this word B)

BTW , I like your elequence

I believe you mean concur. Also, wouldn't it be eloquence?

  9. <_< Hmmmm I will try my best to explain. I feels same way as how can CCleaner be responsible?

First I anazlye and clicked all on windows and applications except java, spysweeper, and spybot. I ran CCleaner...

Then I scan issues and fixed all issues except java, spysweeper, and spybot. I only untick those I know that belong to them.

That's it! I don't use Advanced. I am not an experience user...

Then next day, I would go to pogo games and find out java is not working properly.

Same thing happened to my laptop too...I know java was working fine b/c I was playing before I ran CCleaner. I do that before I go to bed.

Now I don't want to use that fix issues again. It's no fun to do uninstall and reinstall every time....

I don't know what was the problem...I have sun java *JRE 1.5.0_02* installed...

I hope I can figure it out and hoping someone will help me too...I will try to go to that link you gave me.

I used java.com is where I got it from. Thanks! Rose

Sounds like it cleared it from the internet's temporary cache files.

Tarun, where did you get that download from? Should I click save first? I still have java installed. I was told I have to remove it first. Is that java newest version? instead of 1.5.0.2? It is now 3? When I went to java.com to download new version b/c old java was not working too good on pogo games. I've read that java recommended to leave old java version and installed new version with it. So I did that and it worked good.....I didn't have any problems playing pogo games. Now when new java version quit working....I had to uninstall new version and reinstall..I hope you understand me.... So you ran CCleaner and java still working good? I wish mine will do that too  :( Please help....If there are something else then I don't know what to do.

All I know is when I ran CCleaner first time my java quit working after I used fixed issues..... Rose  :(

I got that from here. Right off the java.sun.com website. Go ahead and save and install it. It's the newest version. CCleaner has never messed with Java in Firefox, I've never used it in IE though.

If you believe it was from fixing a registry issue, did you make backups?

if you want to use microsoft's "ms virtual machine" you can download it here: MS Virtual Machine

after you install "ms virtual machine", it is very important to go to the "windows updates" website and scan for "updates" and get the security patch for ms virtual machine.

Whoooo, I can tear you to shreds for that post redwolfe.

First off, the link you're giving is to wildtangent. A company that is KNOWN for being LOADED with spyware and adware. You do realize that if someone was to downloaded that you could be held accountable? It's because you're putting the link up there that is from wildtangent. For shaaame.

Next, I think you should read this next quote. I'll bold the key sentence for you.

Microsoft actually recommends not using their Java anymore.  But you can download the latest Sun Java here.

So yeah, maybe I do get mean when people put others at risk like this. Then again, I should. Because people spreading things like that and bad information are what causes harm to other users. My advice is that you think before you post please.
