It really depends on your activites and your total system RAM. I've got 2GB and I had mine set to 256MB, but I bumped it to 512 for Doom 3, yet it STILL nagged me about a paging file. :\

Microsoft Office and Word sucks. Microsoft refuse to use any open standards and intentionally breaks compatibility to prevent others to read/write documents on other platforms to unfairly gain monopoly.

That is not a solution to KM1's problem. I believe this issue has also already been resolved in another thread. Yet again with the product bashing. This is at least three times I've seen you do that. Not a very good start.

CuteFTP contains spyware!
WS FTP sucks.
FlashFXP is good, but its not free, it cost money, and if you use the demo, it will nag the hell out of you.
FileZilla is a free, open-source (GNU GPL) FTP client, it is easy to use, it is great, its competly spy/adware free.

WinRAR isnt free, neither is WinZip.7-Zip is a great, free, open-source (GNU LGPL) archiver, it is easy to use, it handles most formats such as 7z, ZIP, CAB, RAR, ARJ, GZIP, BZIP2, Z, TAR, CPIO, RPM and DEB.
It offers fast compression/decompression, it also has its own .7z format which offers superior compression ratio.
You know, people are asking for other's opinions on things. Saying programs suck isn't the best idea. Something tells me you keep that up and you won't be here too long.
So why not try to HELP instead of say "This sucks, that sucks." alright?

If you know what you're doing in VB you can code powerful and fast applications. VB isn't the best, though it's not crappy and inferior either.

have a question here... why does internet browser uses so much resources...? typically around 20,000k... just curious about it...
Al the graphics that have to be rendered and such. It varies depending on what you're doing, what page you're on, etc.

Never trust those review sites. Ask knowledgable pc techs instead.

I also use WS_FTP Pro which is awesome and easy too.
.tar should be able to be unzipped with WinRAR.
So unzip the file and upload the folders.

IE has a built-in FTP client, but I recommend FlashFXP. You will to connect to the ftp, example ftp://ftp.CCleaner.com with a user name and password.
Shame IE isn't secure.

I wouldn't touch/trust it. The best tweaks are free.

I like mostly classic rock like Led Zepplin, Rolling Stones, AC/DC, and Aerosmith. I also like metallica, god smack, and Audioslave. Overall though my top two choices would be GNR and Aerosmith.
Yeah, Godsmack is good too. Artrosis is pretty cool for polish rock.

I've never really cared for sports games. Same thing every year with different players.. No real challenge.

I'm right their with you. FPS's were made for the pc. But off my PC I like games like metal gear solid, madden, gran turismo, street fighter, Soul Calibur, and Onimusha. Also that new Resident Evil 4 is unbelievable looking (I'm waiting for the ps2 version).
I'm not a big fan of the turn based RPG's.

- America's Army
- Die Hard - Nakatomi Plaza (Lame, sucks, buggy, etc)
- Doom 3
- Doom 3 - Resurrection of Evil
- EUO
- Halo
- Call of Duty
- Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds - Clone Campaigns
- Tactical Ops - Assault on Terror
Soon I'll install Unreal 2. AA, Doom 3, and Call of Duty are the best ones.

Thats quite a cool little gallery you got there. What program are you using for the widgets? I tried a program a while ago and it wasnt very good. Also where are you getting those icons, or are you making them yourself? cool stuff none the less. Great to have another Rocker on here too

I never said Halo is better than any of those games.
All I meant was that Halo is immensely popular on Xbox and that Sony might be trying to match that with Killzone on PS3
BTW, why so harsh on Halo?
I got it, I've played through some of it and I just find it stupid. I mean c'mon, how can you take a game seriously when the enemies are midgets that yell "HE'S EVERYWHERE!" and "HE'S UNSTOPPABLE!!"
Sorry, I just get tired of all of the people who act like halo is the best game ever. Sure its a fun game it just isnt the best out there. Also even online halo is good but not the best. I think Unreal 2004 has the best online modes for a FPS.If you want a demo of unreal 2004 get this, it dosent even expire and has some of the best levels of the full game.

I love Doom 3 (expansion is awesome too!) and I have yet to play Unreal 2 on this pc (had it on my old one but it was tough, cause it wanted a bit more for the recommended than the minimum.)
AA 2.4.0 is junk though, I redownloaded AA 2.3.0.
