Hi Mistress, Welcome to the forum. CCleaner does offer you this option. Click "Issues" > scan for issues. If anything is found it will offer you the option to fix selected issues. If you click ok CCleaner will ask you if you would like to backup/ save your settings to "my documents" before it runs. Btw, the registry tool in CCleaner is not very aggressive. It very rarely causes any problems. Hope this helps. Woody.

Start > All programs > Accessories> System tools > System restore. Create a new restore point . Name it > ok.

Which version of CCleaner do you have ? The latest is V. 1.31 . 325. It was released on the 6th of July and AFAIK support for the flock browser was added to it .

Another alternative would be to use Spywareblaster. http://www.filehippo.com/download_spywareblaster/

In Firefox.....Tools > Options > Content > Block pop-up windows. Download two extensions..Adblock or Adblock plus, also the Filterset G updater. By doing this you shouldn't see any pop-ups or ads of any kind.
