  1. FYI I see in Windows 7 the regular recycle bin does not have the $ anywhere in site. BUT The post recycle does. It's called: $RECYCLE.BIN It is not openable in W7 But ... Like I had mentioned, I 'think' XP has the same thing as I was having this problem before I switched! Can someone using XP sp2 check this out too plz ...
  2. I will recheck it again in the AM when I have something to delete. Thanks LOT!
  3. Just a quicky reply ... This also happened with XP. I JUST switched to W7. As soon as the recycle bin re-loads I will un-check it, BUT that seems SO counterproductive!! That's is why I have CCleaner!
  4. I just downloaded the new version of CCleaner 2.3.1.1153 and it still stalls and goes VERY slowly at 21%!!! It has been at the 21% mark for almost 1/2 hour now. Can someone PLEASE acknowledge my post? Thanks!
  5. Hi! I am a long time user of CCleaner, and for the 1st time I am having troubles with it! I am using v.2.30.1130. On aprox. 21% the program stalls. The 'wheels' are spinning but nothing happens. I have un-clicked wipe MFT free space (C drive only) and it didn't help. I am using windows 7 home 32 bit. Running as admin. I use Firefox and IE. And I am still getting use to them, and I am not sure where the temp internet files for each browser are ... yet. I also notice that that the cookies are not being cleared out. It will show like 6 files in the analysis where there are really 20+ so I tried to clear them and nothing happens. Thanks!
  6. WOW! ERUNT must be popular! I got the same answer in 2 posts, so all my questions were answered I just wish there was a product out there that did everything. Even the registry product that I purchased doesnt do everything. Thanks to all who posted answers! This is my last post so toodles to all! {{{HUGS}}
  7. Thank you! I will look up the info on SysmonLogManager.Snapin as soon as I am done posting. This is funny that you posed about the ERUNT product as I just got it, and, in my other post, hazelnut posted the same product LOL! Must be good! Thanks again!!!
  8. Hi! I tried to delete a few of the strange entries: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.\OpenWithList] "a"="DVDx.exe" "MRUList"="a" [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.1] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.1\OpenWithList] "a"="NOTEPAD.EXE" "MRUList"="a" [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.68/adultpleasureseekers/] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.68/adultpleasureseekers/\OpenWithList] "a"="iexplore.exe" "MRUList"="a" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.DSG] [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SysmonLogManager.Snapin] ============= I wish I knew what they all meant. I know some are website URLs and URL directories, but things like the .DSG and the SysmonLogManager.Snapin I have NO idea what they are!
  9. Hiya Woody, I just ran a registry scan and unchecked everything except for 2 entries, just to see what would happen, and it only showed what was slated to be deleted... I was talking about a regular, straight backup, a FULL registry backup! Not just backing up the files that are going to be deleted.
  10. Hi! I am a new user of ccleaner. I love it! Ilike the way it finds bad registry files, that my other registry cleaner does not. This is my delema... I surf tons of websites and do a bit of website design. I have hundreds of entries similar to the ones below. Is it safe to delete ALL of the entries that are listed? When I say hundreds I mean hundreds! LOL Thank you for your feedback! HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/FileExts/.htpasswd-bak/ | OpenWithList or HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/FileExts/.com/pub/pc/winxp/netutil/ | OpenWithList or a little different H_K_C_R/.DSG or H_K_C_R/SysmonLogManager.Snapin
  11. Hi all! I am a new user to CCleaner. Nice little program! I would like to address 1 portion of CCleaner, the registry cleaning part. I would LOVE to see a registry cleaning program that will have a backup registry option BEFORE it runs. I've looked at a few programs, and I own 2, and NOT 1 that I looked at has the option of backing anything up before deletion. Just a suggestion
