  1. Something like this? [More Opera*] LangSecRef=3022 Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Opera Software Default=False FileKey1=%appdata%\Opera\Opera\icons|*.*| FileKey2=%appdata%\Opera\Opera\thumbnails|*.*| FileKey3=%appdata%\Opera\Opera\vps|*.*| I haven't got Opera installed, so I can't confirm if it works.
  2. Apologies, my comment was not aimed at the o/p - but rather " sdratsaB_hsurC_ot_ekiL_I" who was writing about admissible and inadmissible evidence. The point was the best way to NOT end up in court would be to follow the law.
  3. In Windows 2000 the DNS cache was a single file (%systemroot%\system32\dns\cache.dns) - I cannot locate it now.
  4. Here is a quick tip for everybody; don't do illegal crap! Then you don't have to worry about how well CCleaner can replicate the effectiveness of a hammer.
  5. CCEnhancer will grab the new rules now
  6. Run both CCleaner and Defraggler (with the shutdown parameter.) When CCleaner finishes first defraggler will keep running and eventually shut the PC down.
  7. Most of them fix security flaws in Windows, so you should not remove them unless required for some technical reason. Leaving Windows unpatched exponentially increases your chances of being infected with a virus. My suggestion is you purchase an external hard drive, which you can pick up for around $50 these days. You could also consider moving some of your data "to the cloud" by storing it in Windows Live Skydrive or something similar.
  8. The user specified Windows Vista and Windows 7 in the title, Alan. ~~~~ I'm not sure what the issue could be mappir, have you tried a complete clean uninstall of the application then reinstalling it? Perhaps try the "Run As Administrator" feature to rule out any conflicts with UAC which can go haywire at times. Let us know how it goes.
  9. Speccy 1.07.205 reports that I have no A/V installed either. I run x32 Windows 7 Professional and "Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security 2011*" *Could they possibly pack in any more buzzwords?
  10. <CCEnhancer updated now, so no need to manually download if you have it set to receive updates> Here is a small entry that I made to test the Easy WinApper program. I would improve the environmental variables but I'm in a hurry to get to work.
  11. I believe the Apple Software Updater has an automatic mechanism for clearing these files. I could be wrong though...
  12. box.net is feature packed and just generally awesome. They only give 5GB to free accounts though.
  13. Just letting you know, doing that on a large scale is a bad idea.
  14. Can I ask why you are securely deleting your junk files? I hardly think anyone is going to steal your computer and nick all your .tmp files
  15. At some point we were collaborating, but due to my final exams at present, I don't have the time to help (let alone post this response really ) I figure for the sake of being up to date there is no harm using winapp2.ini's file so long as I give back in the future
  16. Are you sure Firefox is closed at the time?
  17. That is a matter of opinion I think. Personally I don't like the "brush" icon, however the others look much better IMO.
  18. If it were going to ignore this list why would they bother including it. This comment makes no sense..? To answer your question directly, after upgraded my "safe" cookies list was transfered to the new version and none of the listen cookies were deleted. New environmental variables, more application cleaning and improvements to HTML5 offline storage not enough? I've noticed that it runs somewhat faster too... so I'm guessing some of the scanning code has been reworked. A typo for "Evercookie," which is a type of cookie which replicated itself over 10 or so places on your PC making it near impossible to remove. Do a search for more information about these.
  19. I've found that vb.net has really sucky XML support, compared to other languages I've used - such as Java. Sometimes it baffles me. ActionScript (2) is a neat language to learn too, mostly because you can't actually break anything while testing. I recently learned it to build an "App Store," the thing sucked and the language is really messy, but really easy to get your head around. It's also light on the parenthesis, so it's a good place to start if you want to progress to C based languages.
  20. +1. I'm into VB.NET mostly, but I'm a bit of a PHP fan too
  21. http://smallbasic.com/ is another great tool to teach kids to write code
  22. RAW drive support is a good idea, but I too stopped reading after that. You really should slim down the wordcount though... If you just can't manage it, what about something along these lines, mr don?
  23. Might just be locked by AVG. Have you tried adding it to the ignore list?
