I used to be a happy Opera user and then I found Firefox and it stole my heart. ...does that count?
-
I like how Internet Explorer renders the pages. I like something, still unknown to me, about Firefox (I think its add-ons and ease of use). I live Google Chrome because it's something different and to be fair it does load pages that little bit quicker (only some pages though ). I was hoping Google Chrome would be a compromise between the two (Firefox and Internet Explorer) and it sort of is; they just need to fix the few bugs still.

It looks like that SilverLight (despite Microsoft's claims that SilverLight 2 is more stable with Google Chrome) is still unstable.
-
I am sure this is a just a biased report from a non-Internet Explore user. Anyway, I do believe the statistics on Firefox.
-
This is good news because now the silly SilverLight plug-in problem might be resolved (I shall look into this tonight ). Otherwise, yeah, I am looking forward to this release because I was actually willing to give up Firefox for it until I discovered a few problems (one of which previously mentioned). When I have managed to test it tonight I shall give more feedback and my conclusion. Edit: OK, now I have Google Chrome downloaded and installed and there's still a problem I noticed before and I do not dare try out SilverLight just yet; don't want to be disappointed. Other than that, I am quite inclined to consider Google Chrome as my default browser. I must admit though, Google Chrome is for a home user rather than a developer but nonetheless it is good. Some may find this an interesting watch: Clicky.

I welcome snow and I most definitely welcome a white Christmas. We all should be in on Christmas day, or at least when we're out, we're out as a family having a meal or playing in the snow. I welcome snow generally 'cause if it's bad enough I get time off from College. I welcome a white Christmas because they are cool and really make Christmas that bit more special.

I won't be downloading the beta but I am curious to see if there will be any new features to it; I hope there are.

Keithuk, it's force of habit at this point.

Thanks. Are you like the bibliography for Piriform forums?

Recuva just marks the files as red and as far as I know that means unrecoverable/not worth trying. I never tried recovering the file so I don't know the answer to that. OK, thanks for answering at least--appreciate it.
-
OK, so, I Recuva. </moment to share that> How come some files can be recovered, yet others cannot? For example, on my USB flash drive I deleted several images the same way I normally do: Shift + Delete and when using Recuva I get most of them images back but some are in red status/unrecoverable. Why is this?
-
If you're looking for somewhere to store images, and even share them, then I recommend SkyDrive by Windows Live. 5GB capacity and I recall it to be a 50MB maximum upload per slot (i.e. a file that exceeds 50MB cannot be uploaded). As previously mentioned: you can share ('Public') your uploads or keep them private, I also believe you can choose friends (but not 'Public') to view as well.

Visit this web page which will allow you to install the latest CCleaner.

Hmm, I am still failing to understand the situation properly. How I see it is: you've logged into WLM (which is MSN) using Yahoo! and it worked up until a while ago when it stopped, at this point you decided to try your WLM (MSN) credentials and these still failed. Failing them two you visited http://mail.live.com to sign into Windows Live using your WLM credentials and it still failed. Right? ... if so, continue -- if not, then correct me ... Have you recently installed a firewall? This is the only thing that I can think of that would stop your MSN/WLM connecting to Windows Live. But, then, it wouldn't stop your Internet Explorer--that is more a cookie issue. If you have recently installed a firewall then tell me what firewall it is? If not, then let me know. In Internet Explorer (v7): Tools -> Internet Options -> click on the "Privacy" tab -> click the "Default" button (or manually slide the bar down to "Medium") under "Settings" -> Click "OK". Restart Internet Explorer and try again.

Your preferred method of payment for on line purchases?
Yorkshireman replied to Anthony A's topic in The Lounge
I prefer the direct Debit/Credit card transaction. I hate all this PayPal nonsense. -
So, to clarify, your problem is you cannot sign into MSN via the messenger and via Internet Explorer?

Is this a manual update or will Java automatically update in the near future? I just requested Java to update now and it said I have the latest version despite being on Update 10. Also, after checking that page you link to: there's no Update 11.

Good idea. Compacting so many uses into one little devices; I love that concept.

I tested Google Chrome little under four weeks back and it still had issues with SilverLight so I have left it. Otherwise, I was happy to go to Google Chrome. I don't know why. I see what you mean, but I can't from off the top of my head think of one? Minus spell checker.

Ah right, with not using Classic View I forget. Try running the executable.

Sorry I didn't see your topic sooner. Glad you sussed it out anyway.

That Microsoft Word one is cool. First, and last, time my MS Word will see 500+ pages.

Sorry, I fell ill for a few days; I am back now. By "no Icons" in Control Panel, what do you mean? Are you referring to 'Change or Remove Programs' list? Edit: Sorry, forgot about "[...]problem loaading java[...]" in Firefox. For Firefox you are required to download an executable file which will install Flash throughout Windows rather than just as an add-on in Internet Explorer (of sort). You can download this executable here: Clicky.

Yeah I think I agree. I don't like all the right-click/context menu options I have right now, let alone more. However, thanks for the recommendation.

Microsoft Explorer: Tool for saving column display?
Yorkshireman replied to Peter2's topic in Software
That's pretty advanced stuff. I suggest you ask over at MSDN forums, since it's more Windows specific. Though, don't give up hope here; someone may come along with an answer.
