By the way too, I don't think anyone intended to be rude. Nobody here usually is.
I really didn't, I guess me sense of humour isn't every ones.

any one ever used this? banks offing me it. Never heard of it. not researched it yet.
-
I didn't mean to come across as offensive. It's the internet and how we say(type things) can not always be put into context. So for that i'm sorry.
I just found it midly amusing that you being a IT Investigator that you didn't investigate what the file was.
-
Forensic IT Investigator that does not know indext.dat are always open when Windows is running. Hence why they cant be deleted. which is why ccleaner should be run at startup.
-
I find it extreamly od also you want to remove it silently. why cant you remove it normal?
-
I have been asked to create a script that will uninstall CCleaner by my one of my boss'.
I love the program though.
I am fine with just deleteing the folder if that is the only files and folders that is created during install
A good uninstaller should remove reg keys they made

I never use a browsers in built cleaner simply because it does not over write files. As said above you have a all in one app, that is fantastic.

Welcome to Piriform Schwein.
Well a simple way around this for the moment is create a short-cut for ccleaner.exe and put it in the Start\Programs\Startup folder. Everytime Windows starts up it will run CC.
But run at start up in ccleaner is the /AUTO silent cleaner. adding ccleaner.exe will just open ccleaner on start.
will need to a shortcut icon for the /AUTO command and add that
can you do a little test. check the startup checkbox. Keeping ccleaner open go to start-run- and type msconfig
Check to see if ccleaner is there. If it is there Then close ccleaner and msconfig. then reopen ccleaner and see if the the checkbox is checked. if it is not then go to msconfig and if the entry is gone then something on your pc is removing the entry

Just tested this on firefox latest ccleaner version. and ff remained shrunk

Just curious. Not really the type of place to ask a question about this. but i thought there are so many open minded people here. not to mention sensible lol. any way
has any one ever had to help some one with alcohol? im not on about myself lol.
just a friend of mine(yes it really is a friend) has a serious problem with it. but every time i mention it i get loads of abuse. Swearing shouting. I AINT GOT A PROBLEM. but some one who drinks EVERY DAY. 10/15 pints has. Not to mention they work for me and turn up late.
My question is how did you help them? The guy is a great worker for me and a close mate. but he needs help. How can you help some one who dont want to help them self?
sorry if personal threads cant be talked bout

Hey. this is not goin to be much help. recovering files is not my expertise. but just because a file is found./showed/even previwed as thumbnail. even with its 'excellent state' does not mean it can be recovered.
im sure an admin will help more

tbh it's more harm(can be caused) then good.
whats the actual hassel with an empty folder? is it harming your pc? is it taking up space?(maybe if there was 10 million) unles you know what it is. just leave alone.
-
I suppose when a registry app says you have 300 problems its better then ccleaner also
/sigh

You are 100% WRONG
There is NOT unanimous agreement.
I am totally and fundamentally opposed to any such integration.
Normally XP behaves tolerably well,
but a right click is horrendously different and always variable, depending on what I click and how often.
If I select a 200 MByte *.exe file and right click,
Windows realises it is so feeble and slow compared to Linux that it cannot act soon enough if I delete the file,
so it locks me out of the system whilst it copies the file into a restore point just in case,
and perhaps a minute or so later I regain control and can choose "properties" because ALL I wanted was the version number.
There have been occasions when the context menu is open, and I need to choose a different item in the menu.
Then there can be further delays as it shifts and shuffles,
and I have known it to wait for my ENTER before it shows its last shuffle selection,
And what I intended as "Create Shortcut" becomes "Delete".
Heads will roll if my daughter does a right click to play a tune and instead all her purchased iTune folders are shredded.
A thousand times, NO THANKS
Alan
hey alan. forgive me if im wrong again. lol seems to be a thing tonight. are u saying adding a right click is difficult?????
if so its not at all. its just a case of handling the arguments. example
For Each arg As String In Environment.GetCommandLineArgs() 'Display argument TEXTBOX.TEXT = arg Dim Dir As String = TEXTBOX.TEXT Dim fi As New System.IO.FileInfo(Dir) TEXBOX.TEXT = fi.Name'DO ACTIONS Next arg
which is a few lines of code.
but im very drunk and likely wrong to what u mean lol. sisters birthday

forgive me if im wrong i have not had the time to properly read. but isnt he/she asking for a shell extension????
I personall would love it if ccleaner offered a secure over pass of files via right click.
yes of course this can all be done via the recycle bin so i wont moan as i love ccleaner

It's also equal to 3 ft.
How do you figure that?
There are 12 inchs in 1ft
36 inches in 3 ft
2.54 cm in 1 inch
2.54x36 = 91.4 cm
which is not 1m
-
How big is a meter?-
1m
100cm
1000mm

I don't think Coronas saying that, as I can see humour in his post, and I like a touch of humour.
I did appreciate the humour as well.
I think it all comes down to what you do and what you know. Yes even the most professional users could get infected. But i know what i do and i know i wont get infected. I use vmware when ever i step outside the box with what i generally use.

Hello. Have you tryed down grading to an older version that you knew worked fine?
For ccleaner to disable an entry on startup this would have to be coded into the application load event. and i cant see any reason why this would be as its not needed.

Thanks for the answer.
It would be better if the option is there without rebooting for those who leave their computers on for days.
since it's a system file and cannot be deleted while in windows since it's being used at that time.

"Keyboard settings section in "control panel". It seams that the keyboard(s) have taken on or have been programed by mistake from a program.
The other way of a quick fix is to go into the "device manager" (Start > settings > control panel > system > device manager) and right click on your keyboard and select "delete", when it is deleted reboot your computer. You will not be able to use your keyboard until it is re-installed by your computer, so just let it bootup and you will see a box coming up that says something like "found new hardware" or "found new keyboard", after this you should be able to use as normal."
