iobit would like thsi

It would be nice to here one of the makers of ccleaners reason to why, they have not done this or the downside of them building it in.
Because this gets asked weekly but it seems no one knwos the reasonsd to why and cannot give a proper answer
-
That's a good idea
100% agree, really good idea
-
I agree with Andavari. Where ever it is it would be found. I think possible a warning the first time its UI is in focus that lets the user know of the dangers of using the registry tool.
Tbh every time i have witnessed a new user on here mentioning the registry scan they have always shown caution to using it.
-
what do you think?
that you shouldnt be looking at stuff that would be not considered work to tolerable
-
Not really. While you always get people who say "i have your ip address and going to hack you" over the internet ther eis little they can do.
If any hacker out there wants my ip address here you go 86.9.196.28
If you do connect directly they a hacker could attempt to connect directly to your and try to exploit any security vulnerabilities but a firewall would stop this.
Your ip can be obtained form websites, email headers chat applications like msn and so on.
Police can find out who you are. Some 16 year old hacker could not.

Rorschach112: I was always under the impression tea timer would be unneeded for FF users since active x is not allowed. I have never bothered with it since heard SO many bad reports.
can you please give some more info thanks

option to recycle bin. im sure this is intentional but just curious to why. All previous settings stay the same other then this and add "run ccleaner" in the context menu. These reset to both being checked.
I dont use these and always uncheck.
It dont bother me having to reset them. It's a minor having to change them for a great application. Just would of thought all previous settings would stay as saved state.

In applications tab uncheck spybot s&d

"The registry "Issues" I always run after uninstalling an application, but if not doing that, at least every few days."
I'm exactly the same as this.
I often run ccleaner up to 20 times a day. Just running at startup or shut down is enough for the generally user imo. There is no harm in run ning it more as said above.
and welcome

Right click off of any icon and try "view detailed results" again.

Asingle write is sufficient if the overwrite is truly random.
and as marmite said. There is not one laboratory claiming it can recover over written files.
-
I wouldn't worry about it. Ther eis no security risk people knowing your ip.
-
I think it could be worded better also marmite.
I dont quite agree with there 99.9% of malware will be found on quick scan.
I deep scan once a month and a good few times it has picked up stuff QS has not.
End of the day, it's a great bit of kit.
-
But by making a auto feature it's encouraging people not to check. I check every item. I would never blindly remove any thing.
There will always be people just deleting entrys with out checking first, there is nothing any body can do about that. While ccleaner is at safe end, as safe as registry cleaning can be it's still not safe to just delete what ever it finds.
This is of course just my opinion. I'm sure there are many people who would like this feature. And yes it's there choice and there computer to do freely what they want with.

You have never heard of malware bytes? :S (MBAM)
Quick scan vs full scan
"All it does is scan more locations on the hard drive(s), thus allowing it to pick up traces it might have otherwise missed, but again, even that's rare because the quick scan is designed to look in all the places malware likes to hide."
Seems like full scan is pretty pointless according to the malwarebytes team

Might be an idea to make a thread on
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=12
Got some great advice on there before. Forums always busy
There is currently 7k users active online right now.

I imagine quick scan checks the most likely place where malware would hide. Where as deep scan checks the whole computer or which ever directorys you choose it to look.
-
Spybot is to outdated to be effective against malware these days.
Def agree with this. never any software updates. Last major one was that terrible tea timer.
Malware bytes as roschach said is enough. It's not going to harm you having more, other then take up memory.
I'v never bothered with real time.

Got some funny reading in there.
http://adobegripes.tumblr.com/page/1
Goes into misstakes adobe have made in there software
-
why would you want to run the risk of critically disabling your computer?
-
Advanced user or normal user should never just auto a registry clean.
-
While your at it you might as well incinerate your HD and buy a new one. Problem solved.

"This option will delete Start Menu shortcuts that are invalid (they point to files that no longer exist)."
as Andavari said, ccleaner does not clean MRU of the start menu

This is what i suggested above. Then it would be down to the user to pay attention. If they dont then its tough really.
