  1. We have it on a computer at work, which is very similar to the spec of your computer. I personally think the computer is a pig to work on, because it is so slow, and to make matters worse the yearly subscription has just been renewed, despite my best efforts to get it uninstalled. I will try my best to get rid of it this time next year as well. Our other computer in work is a 4/5 year old computer running ME, on this computer I was allowed to put my choice of software on, which is ZoneAlarm and AVG, this computer works much quicker.
  2. Ultimate Predator, I think it is probably time you posted a HJT log, your comp certainly seems to have problems, the type of problems that would normally be associated with malware. I just looked back at this thread: http://forum.CCleaner.com/index.php?showtopic=2498&hl= It seems you thought certain products that you use were more than capable than the products that we like to recommend in here. This could be where your problem is coming from.
  3. AVG Free link - http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5 Scroll to bottom of page. Direct link to download - http://free.grisoft.com/softw/70free/setup...ree_344a618.exe
  4. The silver one that comes with XP. That is what I always used, until I got Luna Element 4 to work.
  5. I personally, would settle for the Powmax one. It's higher power output, and lower price appeal to me more, and it is recommended on the same page as the Motherboard.
  6. That is what rridgely said, it is the theme he is using for XP to make it look like a mac, that is causing the problem.
  7. Yeah, on paper and with a little gold band, but, I think you just read me like a book.
  8. How about a screenshot Maddux_91? BTW, are you the female in your avatar, or a male that would like the female in your avatar?
  9. I would not bother Vanguard382, you have a fast processor, just leave it as it is. Overclocking can sometimes cause more problems than you really need. Also, by overclocking you will be making your processor work harder which in turn will make it get hotter, so you would possibly need to improve air circulation by adding another/improved fan. Others may disagree with this, if so, read their posts as well and make your own mind up.
  10. Nice to have a bit more humour on here Doug_Gentry, welcome to the forums m8. Actually I am not too impressed by that style of writing.

    Luna Element 4

Glad you got it working, I know how frustrated I was getting with it, I was determined to make it work somehow. Had trouble getting it to work on my son's laptop last night, but then realised it was because I had uninstalled SP2, reinstalled SP2 and it still would not work, then realised I had to change the UxTheme.dll again because SP2 had reverted it back to the normal one.
  12. Surely a recovery function on an eraser type program is defeating the object.
  13. I would not keep a cool app to myself, I am willing to share anything.
  14. When you install Open Office, you will be given the option of selecting certain file types that will open in Open Office. If you tick these options, then when you try to open a Word (.doc) document, it will open in Open Office automatically. If you dont tick these options, then you would, either, open Open Office and the browse to the file that you want to open or right click the file, and choose Open With from the drop down context menu.
  15. I can't offer any real constructive advice, but maybe some advice is better than nothing. Uninstall CCleaner again Then go to C:\Windows\Program Files and delete the CCleaner folder Reboot the computer Download and install CCleaner again, and see what happens then, (make sure you are downloading it from the CCleaner website or a site that is linked to by the CCleaner website). BTW, it would not do any harm to post a HijackThis log, just so someone can prove your computer is totally clean, (if you do though, make sure it is in the right section of the forums).

    Luna Element 4

I finally got this to work, if anyone else is still trying then give this a go. Download the UxTheme.dll from Lunarsoft. You will find it in this thread. Extract the uxtheme.dll file to your desktop. Restart in Safe Mode, Navigate to C:\WINDOWS\system32\DllCache, rename uxtheme.dll to uxtheme.dll.bak, Then copy the uxtheme.dll that is on your desktop and paste it into C:\WINDOWS\system32\DllCache. Then Navigate to C:\WINDOWS\system32, rename uxtheme.dll to uxtheme.dll.bak, Then paste the uxtheme.dll into C:\WINDOWS\system32. Restart the computer. Hopefully you have already downloaded and installed LE4.exe, you should now have no problem applying the theme.
  17. To be quite honest, I don't think rridgely's spelling is that bad, you see a lot worse on these forums, but I guess rridgely has been singled out because of his vast amount of posts, which would obviously mean his mistakes are going to stand out from the crowd. We could always find a new victim, someone who won't spot my grammar mistakes, but then I am just typing the way Londoners talk.
  18. You are right, it was bad grammar, and this is how you spell doesn't.
  19. That spellchecker you are trying out don't work then.
  20. If it was a Genuine Microsoft Windows XP Home CD, then it would work on any computer, but obviously you would need the product key for each. However, I think it is going to be a restore CD, as is most often the case, and this will only work with the computer that it was supplied with, (although there was once a similar topic on here where someone claimed they had used their restore CD on their girlfriends computer, or something like that and it had worked). With a restore CD you are just accessing a partitioned section of the hard drive where the Windows installation files are stored.
  21. Regular visitors to Lunarsoft.net would have found out about this 8 days ago. http://www.lunarsoft.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=56
