  1. The quality on the album I bought seems pretty good. I agree that having the disc is better, but $5 is a good deal for albums that I may not want to spend $12-$15 on. (Win7 snip tool is awesome. )
  2. I picked up Black Crowes' Before the Frost which I had been meaning to get for a while. GREAT album. If you like the stones, the band, or anything like that this album is something you should check out.
  3. Amazon mp3 is doing a pretty cool deal. They have bunch of albums for only $5. Some of its pretty recent stuff but there are some classics on here too. http://www.amazon.com/b/ref=amb_link_86155..._rd_i=163856011 I love amazon's mp3 store. Its all 256kb mp3(vbr). Sounds good and you cant beat $5 for an album if its something you like.
  4. I assume from that end bit that people are telling you to get the 5770 instead, which really is a better card for only $20 more. Just check out the benchmarks: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-5770,2446.html 5770 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...2-864-_-Product ---------------- Those 2 you posted are going to perform the same, the vapor one looks like it has a better fan though. You won't notice a difference between the two.
  5. This might work as a OS for certain devices, but never as a main desktop/laptop. Too crippled.
  6. http://www.tomsguide.com/us/Klingon-baby-t...,news-5147.html I was looking and then saw the title and couldn't pass it up. Imagine needing a special translator at school because your kid only speaks klingon.
  7. Without nuking the OS all you can really do is manually delete your data and use something like eraser. If those discs you do have can be used to get a clean install of windows then use dban. Thats about all you can do.

    Ubuntu 9.10

When Vista came out I kept looking at Ubuntu. I tried it multiple times and all of its versions because I wasn't happy with where windows was going. Now that 7 is here I doubt I'm going to pursue switching to linux. (7 has been mostly trouble free) There are good and bad things with linux. The thing that bothers me most though is the way they do drivers. When they update the distros they will update things like xorg which will break your graphics card drivers and if your product isn't being supported anymore or there isn't an updated driver, guess what? You won't get to use any new releases past the one in which your card has a driver. Same thing goes with the sound system(pulse or alsa). I'm not sure why they do it this way but it drives me nuts. Why are they updating their driver bases every 6 months in some cases. There are tons of other set backs but the hardware support is the main thing they need to work on.
  9. Make sure you have the OS disc that came with your computer. If it has a recovery partition then make sure you make the discs. Then nuke the HD with DBan and your finished. http://www.dban.org/

    windows 7 64-bit

It works fine. Once you install 64bit windows you will notice that in the program files it has a 32bit program file folder and a "normal" one that is for native 64bit programs. You should be able to use any 32bit program on 64bit windows.
  11. I just got back from seeing a movie on Imax and I got to see this movies trailer in 3d there as well. Looks amazing, I just hope its a good movie. IMAX+3D is almost too cool, you have to see it.
  12. Take a look at hdtune: http://www.hdtune.com/
  13. Worked fine for me. I got it from the same site. Maybe try running it as admin(I didn't have to do that but couldn't hurt to try) Right click>run as administrator. The new movie maker is pretty cool, nothing like the one on xp.
  14. Except Avatar is made by James Cameron(Aliens, Terminator 1&2). I don't think hes ever made a bad movie and they all push the technology way ahead of anything else at the time of their release. I'm excited for it but I'm a little hesitant. I think its going to depend on how good the story is and what the tone of it is because its hard to make an almost 100% cgi movie feel real.
  15. Just in case any windows 7 users haven't clicked on the themes link I figured I would post this: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows...=desktopgadgets The bing theme is pretty cool, it has like 20 different images that they use for the search engine. I set my theme to that and put it on shuffle and have a different desktop every time I start up my computer. Oh and their are more "gadgets" on there too.
  16. Clean installs are always best. You get the best results since your not left with stuff from the old OS to conflict with the new one. You can do a clean install with the upgrade, here is how: http://www.winsupersite.com/win7/clean_ins...grade_media.asp

    A fact

I thought that looked strange when I typed it, thus I was too lazy to check.

    A fact

One of my favorite Beatles songs. Don't know much about Octopuses but I've wanted to go scuba diving and see their "gardens" for a while now. (as long as the Octopus wasn't home.. those things are gross looking. )

    A fact

I'd like to be under the sea In an octopus' garden in the shade He'd let us in, knows where we've been In his octopus' garden in the shade I'd ask my friends to come and see An octopus' garden with me I'd like to be under the sea In an octopus' garden in the shade. We would be warm below the storm In our little hideaway beneath the waves Resting our head on the sea bed In an octopus' garden near a cave We would sing and dance around because we know we can't be found I'd like to be under the sea In an octopus' garden in the shade We would shout and swim about The coral that lies beneath the waves (Lies beneath the ocean waves) Oh what joy for every girl and boy Knowing they're happy and they're safe (Happy and they're safe) We would be so happy you and me No one there to tell us what to do I'd like to be under the sea In an octopus' garden with you.
  20. http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/um/red...groups/ivm/ice/ I just saw this and remembered this topic. Not sure what you were trying to do but that program is pretty cool.
  21. Ok, I had a pretty good reply... only problem is that I edited your post instead of posting a new message(doh). Cant really make it funny now. Oh I would have just deleted it... but who am I to delete Mr. 10,000's posts? I'm only at 8000, NOT WORTHY.
  22. That screenshot I posted was from 7's "xp mode" that you get in the professional and ultimate versions. It literally installs virtual pc and windows xp for you. You could install xp on a separate partition if you wanted, but what I put up is actually included in windows 7. You cant really customize the install of xp mode from what I saw, so there was no option to get a "real" xp install from it.
  23. XP MODE!!! (ok... not really all that exciting) Not sure what I'll do with this(probably nothing) but it works.
