To be honest I dont see anything bad and you have the shortest hijack this log I have ever seen. If you are on dial up you can order a disc from microsoft absolutely free here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...us/default.mspx So what you should do is scan with the new version of hijack this make sure that you choose "scan and save log file" then copy and paste it here. You then need to go to windows update and get service pack 2 or order it on cd rom. Also do you use antispyware tools like ad aware, and spybot search and destroy?

Ok, so while scanning with ewido you click off to try to use the internet or something and it takes a long time for the ewido window to minimize (Thats what I assume is happening when the pages peel). Thats what I'm getting from what you wrote. How much memory does your pc have? Have you been noticing any slowdowns? You probably do have lots of junk and its great CCleaner will get rid of that but I dont know if its going to fix your internet. Do you use antivirus software and antispyware software (ad aware, spybot, MS antispy)? If not then download those. If you do and you still have these problems than cut and paste your hijack this log here.

Yes the subsription is yearly like every other firewall. Thats just for the updates though you can still use it but it wont be up to date. I think I'm just going to stick with ZA free.

I would feel cheated too. The good thing is that ZA probably updates their firewall a lot more than Computer Associates. Unless they release updates at the same time in which you were ripped off $20. Out of curiosity what feature made you use the pro version of ZA I have been thinking about buying it.

I actually used to use that agumon. I think ZA and Computer Associates share technologies. If you buy ZA security suite the AV thats in it has the same Vet engine as EZ antivirus (or at least is used to).

Eldmannen the thing is that not everyone wants to worry about configuring a firewall. I think your right those firewalls are not as good as they could be but the average user isnt getting hacked without visiting porn site and downloading off of p2p. I know many people who would never even have any kind of firewall but I came over cleaned their computer of malware and then installed ZA and they never even know its running.

If the power light on the modem has a been going dead than either the modems dead or their could be problems with the wall outlet. If the modem stays on and you internet just quits than its either the modem or you cable. Do you have anything else plugged in to the same outlet as your modem? If so does it work or randomly cut off too?

I dont think streaming makes a file in your hard drive. Try to click on the link that starts the streamin with right click>save link as.

It wasnt a shot at you. Sorry if you felt like that. I'm not a master with HJT and never claimed to be. What I do know is that you can disable things that shouldnt be. Thats why its better to let someone look at your logs than have an automated scanner. I tried that site that you put up a while ago and all of the things that it had question marks for were malware and some of the ones it had an exclamation point for were from my AV. I have learned from seeing all of the new people that come through here that not all of them have tried the antispyware programs like ad aware and spybot. So I wasnt trying to say you were wrong but HJT comes last as you can see by Taruns first response to almost every HJT log.

Yeah I passed the test to with za free but Bavaria had been having problems with it a while back. Edit: (I hate it when you are replying at the same time) Glad that you were ok with ZA running Bavaria. Now you know why it's important to have a firewall running, at the very least use the windows firewall.

I think thats more than likely it. If not than he will need to run adaware, spybot ect. I just didnt want that person to use that automated hjt log scanner. It gives off many false positives and wont even identify all of the malware.

I didnt even know they made unpowered computer speakers. Even the cheap piece of crap ones that came with my pc are powered. something to look out for I guess.
