TheFiresInTheSky
i have some files that i share on my PC and we go to this hotel. their wireless has a network and others can access my files and change them. i had to go through and turn that feature off on all of my shared files. i noticed others on the network have a password to access their computer. how can i set one of these up for mine? Eldmannen
Right click on the folder or partition, and click on the "Share" tab or something, there you should be able to set a password. If you don't use File and Printer sharing, it is better to disable/remove it.

Moderators hazelnut Posted August 6, 2006 Moderators Share Posted August 6, 2006 I have no idea if this is what you are wanting arron, but here is a site which tells you how to set levels of access when sharing files with others. Read down a bit to get to it, it's an interesting read anyway http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040/ EDIT This is a better page I think, as you will read, you cannot password protect shares in xp only xp pro. This explains how to do it. http://www.balliol.ox.ac.uk/comp/shares/index.asp Support contact https://support.ccleaner.com/s/contact-form?language=en_US&form=general or support@ccleaner.com
