CC Cleaner's new Driver update PC problem....

Hello guys!

I have a problem with the new CCCleaner driver update utility tool...

So I upgraded today so I could use the driver update on my windows 10 PC and had done it also on my Windows 10 Laptop and everything went well. Updated my Laptop drivers perfectly but when I did the same for my desktop windows 10 PC, it completed the process and went about restarting the PC but never made it to a full restart.

So now, its just restarting over and over without even having a chance to open any programs to reverse to one of my old starting points. It just don't give me the time to go there since it restarts over and over again too fast... Anyone with the same issues and is there any solution to resolve this problem???

I'm out of options. What I have done is control, alt and delete to sign out so it wont just be starting over and over again.

Can someone please help me? Or its money on the tech geeks which is kinda difficult right now.

Thank you ahead of time for your kind assistance!

Bluescreen 2.pdfHello Support,

I am right there with Frank above. There is something wrong with the new driver update program. Please do not try it or you could wind up with a crashed machine too!

Tried the new drive updater. When it finished and tried to restart it became a blue screen. The program crashed my computer!. It just started over and over again then it got stuck with the dell logo on a black screen and the circling white dots circling on and on. It will not turn off. It will do nothing else.

I tried everything suggested on these two blue screens which was all to no avail.

So support guys, if you would please include me in any help you may have for this situation it would be appreciated.

BTW... anybody else having problems like these out there?

All y'all be well, be happy, and stay safe.

Hi FrankTJr702 and aichers, I am sorry to hear you are having problems with our new feature. Thank you for getting in touch with us.

Please read this support article to see if it can solve any of your issues: https://support.piriform.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402564268429#updating-drivers-with-driver-updater-0-2

I would also advise to research into booting in Safe Mode as this will allow you to access your PC to go back to a Restore Point.

If these do not solve your problems, please get in touch with our Support Team directly and our Support specialists can advise on best to get back from the issues you are experiencing.

Hello!

Hi Brad, exactly as you stated here above.

I also thought about doing the restart on my PC while pressing the shift key which took me to the safe mode start up and tried first to uninstall the updates but wasn't working so I went to do the restore point and it worked!

All good now. Did some manual updating and everything is back to normal. Still kept CC Cleaner of course, its still a great program!

Thanks all. Hope this helps others as well.

Frank

Wish I read this before I updated the driver's... I can't even start in safe mode

Requested update drivers in CCleaner - now I have a dead screen -windows doesn't start up - f8 not working for safe mode

Update:

ASUS laptop support helped me get to safe mode by having to turn my device on and off a few times - now restoring to last restore point.  Not happy about the inconvenience though.

Still trying to restore ... I'm back at the blank screen with turning circle while starting up ....  waiting ..... waiting ....  resenting the hours of my life being torn away from me .... waiting ...

I'm really sorry to hear that @Catspaw. Please email our support team at support@ccleaner.com so they could have a look over your current situation.

This is close to the worst software inclusion ever. I have been experiencing this problem of my laptop constantly rebooting (when unattended) for months. For a while it got better but then whenever I ran the cleaner program (not the driver update), the problem started again. There is no fix because the time I ran the initial driver update (have only run it once) it did not create a restore point as their support claims it does. Essentially I see the only fix to this mess that CCleaner created is a complete reinstallation of Windows. I find that completely unacceptable but it seems that the messages here are that CCleaner are unable to provide a fix to the problem they singularly created for so many people. Whilst I find the rest of the software to be very useful, I will be rating CCleaner a "0" or "1" due to this major defect that they have not addressed

I had a different problem with the driver updater.  I updated the drivers on my desktop and two Windows tablets. The desktop appeared to go okay but both of the tablets lost their webcams.  I had to download and install the drivers from the manufacturer's website and then they worked.

It looks like the driver updater is really a beta version and we, the paying customers are the testers!

Not good enough!

Apparently you are not all that keen to provide support as after seven weeks or more you haven't bothered to contact me. I ended up doing a reinstall (keeping my files and apps) and this did not correct the problem. You are very good with words of support but very poor in actually providing support @Azra CCleaner

It would be nice if you could provide some customer support for people who pay for your product

Hi @the_llama Although completely unintentional, the lack of contact was entirely my fault, and I sincerely apologize for that.

In any situation, I can confirm that our support team has received & responded to the email you sent to us, and they will continue to assist you further.

So I have not had a PC for almost a week now, because I ran the Driver Updater.  Can’t boot to Bios, and doesn’t recognise a usb with W10 media image on it.  Support seem to have stopped offering me any help.  $3000 gaming PC totally inoperable all because I ran the CCleaner Driver Updater.  I think it’s wrong that they keep selling it.
