PS3
gday everyone, i am not sure whether what i am about to tell you is a software problem or hardware but i believe its a software problem. if not then could someone move it to the hardware section? when i plug in my MP3, the computer recognises it and allows me to open the folders. but when i do, theres nothing on the MP3. sometimes it doesnt even allow me to gain access into the MP3. i have attached a photo to what it says. what should i do? is it a crap MP3 player or is there something wrong with all of my computers? (3) thank you.
Moderators hazelnut Posted July 9, 2006 Moderators Share Posted July 9, 2006 Did you format the mp3 player first? I had to do that with one of mine although I don't know if it applies to all types. Apparently ( after using google) it means it's empty. Have you been able to play your music even once? Did you have any problems with your last mp3 player? Which model, the T19, or P310 perhaps? PS3
if i formatted the MP3 wouldnt that mean i loose all my information? i can still play the music but the computer just cant detect any folders on the MP3. this is my first MP3 player. i gave it to my cousin when i bought my ipod nano. got no clue what model it is. JohnDemolition
i believe that if you format, you do lose all the data. however i'm not 100% sure. so just format, readd the files(if it deleted them), and you're good to go.

Moderators Andavari Posted July 9, 2006 Moderators Share Posted July 9, 2006 I'd say visit the manufacturer website and look for an updated driver, and/or firmware version that may fix your problems. And formatting would most likely mean you'd lose everything that's already on the device, however if it isn't a driver or firmware issue that may be all you can do to get it to work properly again. Moderators hazelnut Posted July 9, 2006 Moderators Share Posted July 9, 2006 PS3, You really need to know the name and model make if you are going to google for driver and firmware updates. First get that info. I have had a quick look around for Teclast, it's not easy as they are nearly all Chinese sites and don't translate well. zaphirer
Format means EVERYTHING is deleted and isn't quite the best form of action. I think VOICE means that you have a folder, designed for recordings by the microphone. Does your MP3 player have a mic? If so try recording something (which means a file would be written there) and check again.
