Moderators hazelnut Posted February 27, 2013 Author Moderators Share Posted February 27, 2013 I actually quite like IE10 on Win 8 (I don't use the metro version) It also has the advantage of having a built in spell checker Support contact https://support.ccleaner.com/s/contact-form?language=en_US&form=general or support@ccleaner.com
Moderators mta Posted February 27, 2013 Moderators Share Posted February 27, 2013 agree Hazel. the whole sucks.... less seems true. one thing I hate in IE10 is it's inability to always start in Private Mode. FF, no matter how it's started can do it, but IE, only if you use the -private switch and only if YOU start it. if you click on a hyperlink, it'll start in normal mode - very frustrating, cost me a few hours of my life before I gave up on that one. but yes, the spellchecker is a very nice feature - especially in this forum Backup now & backup often. It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. Moderators hazelnut Posted February 27, 2013 Author Moderators Share Posted February 27, 2013 Remember guys if you have a 64bit Win 7 you cannot install a 32bit version of IE10 @mta Does this work? http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/10310-internet-explorer-10-inprivate-browsing-turn-windows-8-a.html Support contact https://support.ccleaner.com/s/contact-form?language=en_US&form=general or support@ccleaner.com
Moderators mta Posted February 27, 2013 Moderators Share Posted February 27, 2013 Sorry Hazel, no luck, but thanks for the link - that one I actually hadn't seen before (I think, but there's been so many) the prob with IE10 private is it only comes on if you use a shortcut with the switch or manually turn it on once you are in IE. (as your link and all the others I crawled through showed) what I was chasing is the same feature FF has - always on. for example, with IE10 as your default browser, if you click an email link, it'll open IE10 in normal mode. not the same at all as to how FF uses that idea. just something to watch out for. Moderators Nergal Posted February 27, 2013 Moderators Share Posted February 27, 2013 you can use the portable freeware program "default programs" to add -private to the extension handlers. Sorry of topic a bit now ...but not really. ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
