I may be wrong but, since it's a new computer I doubt Defraggler caused the problem. I'm guessing it was just a coincidence Defraggler was installed at the time this bug appeared.

My search of the forum and Google does not find a result for QCPRV.

I'm sorry.... I should have written that the computer was new - "to us". I got it about 5 months ago and it has worked fine since the day we plugged it in. Not one issue. It's actually a few years old...I tried booting from a recovery disc and it tries to repair what ever is messed up, but always comes back to the same error message, and the only thing i was doing was downloading Defraggler. I also came up with nothing doing a search on several browsers. This is my shops computer and my boss isn't happy with me to say the least....:(. Thank you for checking though. I appreciate it. TLG

from whence were you downloading.

how much other internet browsing occurs on this PC?

Please provide for us a a screen capture of the error. You can use the windows snipping tool or even a camera/phone as long as it is readable-ish)

Did you run the installer for the defraggler you downloaded?

did it finish downloading?

is the pc fully updated and running modern antimalware software that is updated.

Are you sure you are not infected? You may need to seek help fro one of the listed places I this thread http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=34786

The Terms QCPRV and Microsoft Windows produces 0 useful internet links https://duckduckgo.com/?q=QCPRV%20Microsoft%20Windows

EDIT; Further Questions:

When it became "new to us" was the computer given as it had been from the factory? Or was it in pre-owned set-up running OS with apps and files and what have you?

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.

I have searched for the single word without referring to Microsoft or computers

QCPRV

and only find 11 results, mostly in foreign languages, plus this same problem at

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/64447-63-qcprv-compressed-control-restart-back-qcpr

Defraggler was NOT run.

Something that appeared to be defraggler was downloaded from an unknown site,

and the computer rebooted and gave the error message.

This definitely looks to me like malware,

possibly from a File Hosting site that bundles in extra goodies like a downloader that went wrong,

or something that is now capturing all financial transactions that are being attempted on the shop computer or network.

Alan if you read my link you will see that the 'word' can really be anything and it shows some examples of ones that have been seen such as QXHDK and DGKAR..

So I think QCPVR is one of those similar random words which is why I suggested trying the fix on that link as it is a known bug in Windows 7 file compression.

Sorry.

I glanced at your post and assumed the link was to a fix for a compressed NTDLR.

My Malware concern was raised by what appears to be a computer reboot that was caused by downloading a file.

Even if the file was INSTALLED as well as downloaded I would not expect defraggler to cause a computer reboot.
