Moderators DennisD Posted December 23, 2011 Moderators Share Posted December 23, 2011 Nice post hazel. This kind of subterfuge is difficult to stamp out sadly.
login123
Thanks for the heads up, Hazel. That site is still only about 5 or 6 down from the top on Google. Called [ MALWAREBYTES | Malwarebytes Download : 2011 ] Edit: And if you click on download, you go to a page for "SearchandDestroy", which is "The Ultimate Anti-Spyware Software", and from there to a sign up page. Good Grief. The CCleaner SLIM version is always released a bit after any new version; when it is it will be HERE :-) Pssssst: ... It isn't really a cloud. Its a bunch of big, giant servers. kroozer
That site is still only about 5 or 6 down from the top on Google. Lowest WOT score I've seen. 4-4-4-1.

Corona
On both Bing and Google my first hit is the official site (Malwarebytes dot org). The second hit is download from C/Net. (ew!)
Super Fast
Corona, I particularly detest CNET's bundled installer method now. I hate to see what they do to Malwarebytes... Download a 400 k installer, to download & install the program for ya. Now, a simple 1 click download has turned into 8. Great?

Corona
I haven't downloaded anything from C/Net for many years. I don't ever plan to.
