twon
When I try to run the registry scan, no matter what I have checked/unchecked (went one by one to see if it was an issue with just one) it crashes. I'm running Windows 7.

Moderators hazelnut Posted April 7, 2011 Moderators Share Posted April 7, 2011 Are your virus scans all up to date and clean? Also what security programs do you have running. twon
I have no viruses, and I don't run any anti virus programs, etc.
Moderators Nergal Posted April 7, 2011 Moderators Share Posted April 7, 2011 How do you know I have no viruses, if you don't run any anti virus programs, etc. ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. twon
I've scanned my computer. However it should have no effect on Ccleaner as it doesn't run in the background. In case you're wondering: malware bytes' anti malware.
Moderators Nergal Posted April 8, 2011 Moderators Share Posted April 8, 2011 Do you have any software layers running that might be protecting the registry? Moderators hazelnut Posted April 9, 2011 Moderators Share Posted April 9, 2011 Malwarebytes is not an anti virus program. Do you not have an anti virus program installed? Ishi
Yeah it could be caused by a virus or something protecting the Registry. I love computer maintenance tasks. Some of my favorite programs: Wordpad -basic word processing Notepad - temporary clipboard and basic scripting module Windows Media Player 12- video, music and online radio player Windows Media Center - live TV, local FM radio CCleaner- handy computer maintenance tool If something fails to work after using the registry cleaner, use SYSTEM RESTORE.
