Simply make or copy the shortcut to CCleaner to the desktop. Right click and go to Properties. The Target will read "C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner.exe". To make it run automatically, make the target read this: "C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner.exe" /AUTO Next, move the shortcut into the Start menu's Startup folder. This has been suggested. Still waiting to see where this is going. It would be safe to clean, as backups are made. In CCleaner look to Options, then click Cookies.

My Norton expires at the end of the month. McAfee may become better with their new scan engine coming out soon.

Often these files come back as needed, this may be why you found them after running CCleaner. Also, CCleaner may not be set to clean some folders where there were found.

I recently switched to WinRAR. Works perfectly to me.

It's an Internet Explorer button and menu item, it's not needed. It won't hurt to remove it and everything will function just fine.

Usually it's the index.html page. Edit that and upload.

You may wish to try and download the Visual Basic 6 Runtimes as this can often fix many problems.

Look into phpBB, CPGNuke, PHP-Nuke (though not very secure).

Generally systray is with Win9x/ME. Kinda weird seeing it with XP like that. o.o

You upload your files via FTP to the server. The server IP will be on the left usually. At least, that's what I have to do for my site.

SysTray is not a required file. It simply allows for icons such as Volume Control and a few others to be easily accessable in the taskbar by the clock.

The ISP would have to be quite good as well.

Good to know Windows Update is working. Do you have HijackThis by chance? Also, did Winamp install without any problems?

What fixed it?

A lot of people use things like PHP-Nuke, phpBB and things like that. CPanel is pretty easy, you log in and have to make a MySQL database for yourself.

What is the extension of the prefs and where are they saved?
