  1. Firefox 1.0.4? Are you talking about the trunk build for it or what?

For the next 1.0.x builds you have to look in this directory. It's the 1.0.4 beta.

Now, as for the 1.0+ (aka 1.1 beta), you'd have to look in this directory.

    Also...

    1. Run Firefox and type 'about:config' in the location bar.

    2. Right-click on the main content area.

      1. Select New

      2. Select Integer

[*]Enter the preference name 'browser.sessionhistory.max_viewers' and click OK.

    [*]Enter '5' and click OK.

    [*]Restart Firefox.

You definitely have a lot of files running on your computer. You can use MsConfig to disable those that you don't need actively running and also remove them from Start > Programs > Startup folder.

The system is clean of any malware that I can see.

Try closing down a lot of applications. Also go to MSConfig and uncheck all in Startup, then see if the system still doesn't shutdown, etc.

  3. With having a tech support hobby (and potential future job) I steadily grew tired of constantly having to write out what to do. I decided to make an application where I could simply paste or import HijackThis logs and convert them to BBCode or HTML. This does not have a whitelist at this time but it has been suggested and I will try to implement one. After all, this is my first Delphi based application as I move away from Visual Basic 6. Oh, also; the Windows XP theme in use is the Luna Element theme.

    HijackThis log tab:

    HJTConverter01.gif

    BBCode tab:

    HTML tab:

    Questions? Comments? Suggestions?

This software is NOT available for download.

Do NOT send me a PM asking for it or I will either ignore you, or post it so everyone will laugh.

  4. Then explain, Tarun, I'd like to have one that loaded that fast without using a preloader.

Maybe it's cause I've been using Firefox 1.0.4. I just switched to 1.0+ (the future 1.1) and both have been loading in under 2 seconds. Even on my old machine they did. Maybe it was some tweaks?

  5. i have new install of xp, CCleaner *latest version*worked fine twice the first day i installed it then suddenly when i hit run cleaner the whole program dissapears without cleaning anything, it keeps doing that, i tried reinstallling and its never worked since..it did that with my previous install too but the registry scanner always works fine.

    p4 3.2/ xp sp2

    512 mb ddr ram

    raid 0 wd raptor

    msi neo fsr mobo

Check to see if it's set to automatically close when finished.

If it's not that. Uncheck everything in the Applications tab and run it. If it still has the problem, it's within the Windows tab. Uncheck everything in the Windows tab and let it clean the Applications tab.

This will help to find where the problem is occuring.

  6. Hey,

If you havn't solved your problem yet or if someone else is having this problem, I reccomend downloading Diskeeper. I own Diskeeper Pro, but I bet the other version os OK 2. It works GREAT and FAST!

                                                                                ~PicAFlic~

You apparently never tried PerfectDisk. It owns all. :D

  7. Would anyone honestly want to see this? But I guess censorship in any way does suck. No I have never seen the google cookie, but I have never trusted thier toolbar (or anyother addon toolbar for that matter). Did spybot or adaware find it to be a tracking cookie?

No, but if you look I believe it expires in 2038.

Yep, it does. Prefs are 2015 and the other says, Sunday, January 17, 2038 2:14:09 PM

  8. Ever seen the Google cookie? There was also something about how Google blocks things, like if you were to search for Iraqi prisoner abuse pictures on Google and Yahoo, Google wouldn't show them, Yahoo would.

  9. That's cause there's some weird DNS problems going on (when the round-robin turns over we'll be able to see the .com again) -- that's why I posted an IP for him.  Tarun, try IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS and see if it breaks your access to google.com -- probably not, but at least it'll prove the theory one way or the other :P

    Start, Run, IPConfig /flushdns right?

Googlebot is even on this forum right now.
