  1. Hello all

Just downloaded CCleaner as after formatting and installing XP Pro on my lappy i've got no audio device and need to find out the name of my motherboard for drivers. Could anyone tell me where i can get that info from within CCleaner?

    Thanks!  :D

You can't get that info from CCleaner.

To find out what your sound card is called do the following. Start > Run... > sndvol32.exe

If it doesn't say in the bottom left, then go to www.lavalys.com and get Everest Home Edition.

Another way is to type in Run... dxdiag.exe (if you have DirectX) or msinfo32.exe

  2. Because Im cheap(Free) and wanted something quick I went with Zoomshare.com. Just to make sure, has anyone has heard anything bad about them? If I start to like it I probably will go with Taruns suggestion.

I don't trust it. They don't say up front what the limits are for bandwidth, site space, etc.

  3. Truthfully I find Yahoo Toolbar for Firefox to be redundant. You already have a search engine bar and you can add tons to it. Mine has Google, Wikipedia, Dictionary.com and the Urban Dictionary. Firefox already prevents a lot of malware, and I don't trust any add on toolbars at all. I mean seriously. What is the point of having them? Especially with Firefox.

  4. For Winapp2.ini

  5. Tarun I went to your site and downloaded Chromedit. Then I cut the list of tweaks and pasted them to user.js. Is this all that is required?

ChromEdit adds a menu option under Tools, enter it into user.js from there.

Also can you use the about config tweaks at the same time as chromedit or is it the same thing?

Same thing, ChromEdit makes it easier.

I found tweak network settings and wow it made firefox fast. I just set the settings to power. Have you configured it to get anymore speed? If yes please post your settings.

If you view my site, you'll see ChromEdit is an add on that will allow you to copy/paste settings, then restart Firefox and BOOM, enjoy the speed.

  7. Hi, I am thinking about upgrading my system to Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. So I am wondering if anyone has experience with CCleaner running on WinXP x64. I understand that are some registry changes made in x64 version of Windows XP, and this worries me for CCleaner not being compatible.

    Does anyone know?

    Thanks.

    Sang

Windows Pro x64 will work fine, as it supports 32 bit as well; thus this will support CCleaner.

  8. I have been watching firefox since it started, but I was never really impressed by it. It loaded to slow, streamed video and audio minutes later when IE only took seconds(with a cable modem), and took forever to open. I know its more secure but with all of the hassle I chose to just remove the malware as I got it. I did use the mozzilla suite because it seemed a little better but not anymore! Now that firefox is useable what do you all know to do to make it better (do you reccommend any plugins or tweaks?).

I'll try and get the list of tweaks back to my website. ;)
