  1. I suppose this is a major difference. I never see ads anymore and I take it so much for granted . If I did I'd be horrified. I couldn't do without my extensions which is why I like FF so much.

  2. i've been using Opera for quite some time and by the look of things, i'm not going to go back to Firefox. simply put, Opera has all the essential things which i require such as built-in mail client, e-mail style feeds(VERY useful), very nice interface(Windows Native), and a lot of other features.

also, i don't know if this website will help you, but if you use a lot of Firefox extensions, then you might wanna check this.

    Thanks for this information John.

  3. Thanks for that information Rridgely, From what you say I think I'm better off staying with Firefox. I think I would find the lack of extensions a big problem. I like the new spellchecker in FF2, but the one between my ears isn't all that bad. :P

  4. I'm a great lover of Firefox, but I'm thinking of giving Opera a go. Are there any Opera fans here willing to put forward an argument why I should change?

  5. Just so everyone knows... this theme does not install correctly. If you notice the theme is a mix of the zune and classic theme. The shell style is not installed correctly. To fix this go to c:windows:resources:themes:zune and create a new folder called "Shell" and inside the shell folder create another folder called "NormalColor" move the shellstyle.dll from the zune folder into the normalcolor folder and reapply the theme. Now the tasks list in the shell will be themed correctly, as well as other areas. Now go to somewhere like My Documents and see the difference. I love the orange start button btw.

  6. its strange to me that fasterfox slow down my computer but if its true..what else can i do:?

thanks..so i DONT need to start firetune each time i start firefox and use fasterfox can cause a hardware problem.. is that correct?

    thank you

Various people on here have reported that fasterfox has actually slowed down their computer, so I wouldn't use it if I were you. With Firetune, once you have set it you don't need to do anything else.

  7. Hi Vecchio,

I'm not an expert on this by any means, but I've heard that Fasterfox can actually slow down your computer. I think you would be better off with Firetune

Btw, with Firetune you set and forget.

  8.

If you do already have FF set as default then set the default back to IE and then to firefox again.

Thanks Rridgely, this worked. You've saved my life. I mentioned to my other half last night that I had switched to FF2 but I had this problem and she hit the roof. I didn't know she had such a fruity vocabulary. :D

Now, maybe, peace will reign once more.

  9. If anyone is interested I've managed to get colourful tabs to work with FF2.

Just let me know if you want me to upload it ;)

Thanks so much for this. I have one of my favourite extensions back. I'll sleep well tonight. :D

  10. Hi everyone, sorry for the basic question. I'm using Firefox 2 and I can't seem to create desktop icons for some of my favourite sites. If I drag the URL from the address bar to the desktop it creates an icon, but when I close the browser and click on the icon I'm not directed to the site. I get an error message saying to go to folder options control panel. This has only happened since I switched from Firefox 1.5 to FF2 . Any ideas? I'm sure it's something very simple.
