In other words, files found in the C:\Windows\Temp\ will be deleted only if they are 48 hours old or older. If you uncheck this option it will delete all files in C:\Windows\Temp\ regardless of age.
Yes, I realize this. So what is the advantage, or otherwise, of having this option checked?

Would someone please put me out of my misery and explaiin the quoting system to me ? I know how to quote the whole post with "reply" and I know how to bypass all quotes with "add reply", But how do I selectively quote? Sorry about this but I have a stored-up fund of these dumb questions.

Thanks for that Andavari. One further question : Under Options > Advanced > Only delete files in Wind. temp. folders older than 48Hrs. Why is this? Is it best to keep this option checked ?
Btw, I'm sorry for the dumb questions, but hey, I've plenty more where these came from.

I've noticed that if I run CCleaner in safe mode more files are deleted. Can someone explain to me why this is? Also, is it advisable to run CCleaner in safe mode occasionally?

Not sure if this is the right spot to post, but I'd like an explanation of what CCLEANER does re the "Applications" section - certainly, it doesn't delete the checked off applications (or does it?) So what does it actually clean up?

I don't like the new tab system with a close button on every tab, but I found a way to put it back to the classic style used in earlier versions. (using about:config)
Thank heavens for that, I hate TAB X, it's so ugly. Just switch off your tabs by centre clicking, what could be easier? I use colorful tabs and to see a bloody big red X in the corner of every one is unthinkable.

Well,I'm quite new to computing so all this stuff about DNS clients and HOSTS files is a trifle beyond me. But, I use Firefox and I do understand about Adblock and the filterset G updater. They both work fine for me here.

What exactly is removed from my system if I choose this option? CCleaner says it will remove 170MB of data so I daren't run it without asking for advice. I have the latest version of CCleaner, released today. Thanks....

This will happen if Firefox is not shut down prior to using CCleaner. Close the browser completely and then run CCleaner. Hope this helps and welcome to the forum.

Are you talking about using the scrolling tiny feature when you press the middle button on the mosue? It's slow on FireFox.
No, just normal centre wheel scrolling. The default setting feels slow to me having just switched from IE. This all comes down to personal preference of course.

I've recently switched from IE to Firefox
however ,one of my first concerns was the hopeless mouse scrolling in Fx. But you don't need an extension, try this. http://www.applepedia.com/Firefox_mouse_wheel_scrolling. I've set mine to 5, and I apologize in advance if this is common knowledge.
