I've heard of people using the expression "those words left a bad taste in my mouth" meaning they heard someone say something that offended them or made them angry. But for some people it's more than just an expression. They actually taste all kinds of different words and each word has it's own flavor. That's just one example of how synesthesia can cause a person's senses to work in very strange combinations.

The reason that the Basic version could be blocked from downloading is because it's bundled with the Yahoo Toolbar, and some security apps will block it.

Welcome to the forum.
CCleaner does offer you this option. Click "Issues" > scan for issues. If anything is found it will offer you the
option to fix selected issues. If you click ok CCleaner will ask you if you would like to backup/ save your settings to "my documents" before it runs.
Btw, the registry tool in CCleaner is not very aggressive. It very rarely causes any problems.

secondly I do not know what slim and basic builds you are talking about -as far as I can see there is only one build of ccleaner to download,
The basic build has no toolbar, but has language support. The slim build which most people here use is English only. When you come to download CCleaner choose "other builds"

Which version of CCleaner do you have ? The latest is V. 1.31 . 325. It was released on the 6th of July and AFAIK support for the flock browser was added to it .

Another alternative would be to use Spywareblaster.

In Firefox.....Tools > Options > Content > Block pop-up windows.
Download two extensions..Adblock or Adblock plus, also the Filterset G updater.
By doing this you shouldn't see any pop-ups or ads of any kind.
