  1. And I have JavaScript disabled through the NoScript extension for Firefox, and only has JavaScript enabled for a handful of sites.

I agree with this, I think this is the way to go. I know that some people find this extension , initially, a bit of a nuisance. But, when you get used to it, it gives you a genuine feeling of being in control. It's my second favourite extension, after Adblock.

  2. It's happening again. I need to log in each time I visit the site. :(

I've sorted it out. I had the Firefox "Stealther " extension switched on by mistake.

  3. Hey, humpty,

Isn't this a wonderful board ? I would suggest that yourself and 1984 are as far apart (almost) as it's possible to be geographically. Here in Manchester (uk) we've had a spot of wind and rain. As for -37 Omg, cold.gif

  4. Hi Cowboy, this is just to say that I've had the A520 for a couple of years now and been completely happy with it. I bought the A530 for a family member over Christmas and they love it. I'm sure you've made a good choice.

    All the best, Woody.

    Btw It costs ?100 here ( $ 180 - $ 190 )

  5. It would seem the the new invision power program only alows a user to remember one forum with auto login. I have found if I remove the other forum I frequent then the cookies for this forum are remebered. But the bad news not both. So it looks as if I will have to log in everytime. Seems a very poor piece of programing

Hi Mike, this doesn't seem very likely. I'm sure most of the regulars here are members of other forums other than this one (even though this one is the best ;) )

I have no clue what is causing the problem though. It can't be just the two of us experiencing this surely ?

  6. Well if anyone is using Firefox try this in 'Tools->Options->Privacy'

    1. Under 'Cookies->Accept cookies from sites' select 'Keep until: They expire'

    2. Under 'Private Data' untick: "Always clear my private data when I close Firefox" or optionally enter it's settings and untick just Cookies so that cookies are kept.

Perhaps after doing that click the Log In text at the top of the CCleaner forum (not using the quick log in box), and make sure the box is selected to remember you.

All my settings are exactly as you describe, but I still have the problem. Very odd. I just can't think what it can be.

  7. I thought my problem was solved but it isn't. I still have to log in each time I access the site. The first thing I did was to delete the old cookie via Cleaner , then create a new one by returning to the site and saving the new one. This had no effect.

I don't really mind having to log on each time, but you know how it is, laziness gets the upper hand. I'm sure the solution is very simple and is staring me in the face.

  8. Found the problem I think. I have had to delete the link to the forum from my favourites, then create a new one. All seems to be working ok now.

I had this problem as well, but doing the above has solved it for me also.

  9. Yes, it's 100% freeware. Just like CCleaner, I guess you even say it sorta ties in with CCleaner. It's a standalone program. It's not a program you would use everyday, but it would save you from time to time.

    Yum Yum. :)

  10. Just remember that when a web page has functions that are not working or even fails to load at all, then it is probably NoScript causing the problems.

I love NoScript as well, I just could not put it on anybody elses computer, as much as I want to, because they would not have a clue what is causing the problems.

I agree with every word of this. I love this extension, but it has caused a number of arguments between Mary (my other half) and myself. She uses IE at work, but has finally come around to my insistence on using Firefox on the home PC. Now, whenever a website doesn't render as it should, I just tell her that she has to enable scripting. This drives her mad. She just wants everything to work. She is however getting used to the idea. So much so, that I heard her discussing the principal of the No Script extension to an equally sceptical friend of hers just after Christmas. :D

  11. Hi cowboy, what Hazel says is really the point. Don't pay for things you will never use. In my opinion you won't go wrong if you buy Canon. But don't go for the highest spec.

All the best for the New Year,

    Woody.
