Thanks, abu. Unfortunately, even after following the instructions in that link and then uninstalling/reinstalling Sandboxie, I STILL get the same error. I'm at a loss at this point. We'll see what the Sandboxie forum says.
Unfortunately, that's not uncommon. Windows 2000 is often listed as being "officially supported", but there is no mention of things like this that prevent the app from functioning on Win2k.
EDIT: The problem is resolved and Sandboxie is working great! If anyone else encounters the same problem, see here for info: http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=41747.
Already installed here and running well so far

No, you can't say that an issue that only occurs once a year is normal for Avira. Be reasonable.
You could also update it yourself. You do not have to sit and wait for Avira to do it for you. Here's how: http://www.avira.com/en/support/kbdetails.php?id=95
totally agree with you
Manual update is another option for free users.

I decided to be brave today and give IE8 another spin on my computer. This time though, I went to FileHippo and I made sure that I downloaded the IE8 version that said it was for XP. I downloaded IE8, and I installed it and restarted my computer. The first thing I noticed was that my boot time wasn't a crawl like it was when I had installed IE8 previously. Then, after I had booted up, I noticed that my programs took their usual time to open, and previously when I had IE8 installed, it seemed like programs took forever to run. To make sure IE8 wasn't slowing up my system, I opened it up. It opened up quickly as it always does, but during my previous IE8 installation, it took very long to open. I also restarted my computer again to make sure it wasn't just a random incident, and it wasn't. So, after reinstalling IE8, I haven't had any slowdowns on my computer of any type. I'm not sure what caused this change, but I'm thinking it was because I downloaded the IE8 version from FileHippo that specifically says it's for XP. During my previous IE8 installation, I may have had the Vista version of IE8 installed, and because it was not designed to work on XP, it caused all the slowdowns. To test my theory, if other people who've had slowdowns with IE8 on XP could test out IE8 again by installing the IE8 version designed for XP, that would be great.
Here's the download link to it from FileHippo: http://www.filehippo.com/download_internet_explorer_xp/
I never have problem with IE8.No slowdown here and running well in my XP Pro SP3.
anyway, glad to know your fixed the problem,Ice.One thing I don't like IE8 is old fashion User Interface

I need some help with some basic video editing I'm doing for a friend. Basically, she wants certain segments pulled out of a video, and then spliced back together so it plays smoothly through. I successfully used Avidemux to take out the proper segments, and each is now saved as it's own video file. I have not been able to find any software that will combine those segments into one media file so each segment will play simultaneously. Can anyone help me out here?
I used Avidemux but you could try VirtualDub.its FREE too

Hi
If I go to Java site to verify my version I get this:
Verifying Java Version
Oops! You don't have the recommended Java installed.
Your Java version is Version 6 Update 15
So I deleted 6-version 15 and tried to download 6-version 16 with no success, so I went back to 6-version 15.
Being on version 15 if I try to update it pops up a message that I have the latest version......
I haven`t got a clue what is going on here , did any of you encountered the same mistery?
You can simply try this steps :
1.Uninstall JRE 6.15 via Add /Remove Program
2.Go to C:\Program Files. Delete all Java folder traces left .
3.Install latest version Java as Andavari gave or this LINK
hope this helps

Will this be better than their free edition ?
Use it if you can't install or run your current SAS due to an infection.

I've never used the program you linked to therefore I can't make any comments about it, however there are now many copycat wannabes of CCleaner that have sprang up since 2004 after CCleaner's success. Then again that happens with any good product.
I used it once and it reminds about WIPE which cleaned my FF bookmarks too.
Used it if you're really know what you're doing.
