  1. As part of a layered defence it's not a bad bit of software abu.

I got it from another giveaway site. :)

My only disappointment so far is it cannot detect malware threats if they load before Zemana, a machine could still be infected with a key logger and you wouldn't even know about it.

    Richard S.

I ain't got this point  How malware could load before Zemana while it was designed like Anti Virus, load on start-up? which type of malware that can get in early before AV/Anti Spyware/AntiLogger start ??

  2. I haven't used Panda since the mid 90s. So you can imagine what it was like then.

wake up my friend. its now 2011 :D Panda now has become lighter. You can try Cloud version that has same definition like paid version.

  3. Yes, Panda did used to be one of the worst! Errors, slow scanning, lol! I remember those times!

It has good detection rates in the latest test :) take a look at Dynamic test

Full scan still slow in my experience but all I need is real time protection.I ran quick scan after installed then let it go.

  4. I got randomly BSOD such IRQL ...? if I update through built-in updater. For that reason,I always do clean install every new version is out! in my xp machine. That never happen with W7. Btw, I have dual doot,XP Pro Sp3 and W7 Ultimate.

any thoughts ? hardware or driver issue ?

in W7, cold start now quicker than previous build.

  5. No performance issues.....installed Auslogis Defragger it displayed 14 errors after a defrag in system health.......than scanned with Reg Repair that revealed 1200 errors?? <_<

Take a look http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=284063 about Auslogics scareware.

I've used Free Windows Reg Repair and found backup/restore function didn't work well.

Don't waste your time to clean/repair registry :D As Ident said, if you want play with wins registry, make backup first.

  6. I gave up using Ashampoo for burning data disks, and I also stayed with the 2009 version. Had issues with later incarnations.

It consistently gave me the wrong information about how much space was left on a CD or DVD, and it even sometimes started burning a disk before announcing there wasn't sufficient room on it, although it had told me there was. Tried latest versions and found the same thing.

I use ImgBurn now, and it is always accurate with disk assessment and I've never had a coaster. I also use it for burning movies.

    ImgBurn: Freeware (Version 2.5.2.0)

    Hope that helps.

EDIT: Ashampoo does auto choose CD or DVD. There's no manual setting.

    I'll give ImgBurn a try.

I'd recommend doing a repair install, i.e.; start the version 9 installer and install right over the top of what you already have.

Repair or reinstall over the top didn't solve the problem.

    anyway,thank mods. :)

  7. Normally you would set the type of media you are using/burning (CD / DVD etc.) in the "setting" tab, I think if you check in "settings" you may find that you have set in on CD and not DVD.

By the way version 10.0.4 is now available for download Version 10.0.4

I couldn't find it in the tab. Theres no option like that. Basically, it will recognize automatically when you insert the blank media (CD or DVD).

and speaking about upgrading,I'd stick with ver. 9 that suits my needs.

  8. I tried to burn my personal DATA into blank DVD with Ashampoo Burning Studio 9.It didn't recognize blank DVD I put. It only showed >700MB(CD) not >4.7GB(DVD) as my screenshot

my DVDRom drive works fine and can play any dvd movie. any ideas ?

  9. I don't know how popular this is but this software installs a virtual printer that...

At the moment I'm using Foxit PDF Creator and find it really handy as I don't always want to print everything but keep a copy of documents, etc. but as that was a shareware I thought I'd post about this. :)
