    enter any text,

    select language

    select voice

    and then click "say it "

    you can change the language and the voice(from male to female etc)

     

    it can be quite usefull if you enter the correct foreign text from a phrase book etc and then listen to what the words or sentances sound like..

    note if you move the cursor around the speker will follow it with their eyes !!!!!

    Howdy, I think I have the bluescreen virus or whatever. My computer will not start up correctly. It blinks out, and takes about 10 to 15 min to start up. I have tried CCleaner, reg cure, spyware doctor, advance registry optimizer, registry patrol3.0 and klez removal, none work. Any help out there?

     

    Messed up Registry, even broken registry ;)

     

    Try system restore or do you use ERUNT to backup your registry ?

     

    if failed, try 'Last Known Good Configuration' at booting.

     

    I suggest, throw out RegCure, Registry Patrol and AdvancedRegistryOptimizer ( i'm sure this is caused by them).

     

    Keep CCleaner ;) and replace Spyware Doctor to SuperAntispyware. :)

    Scanning A Program!

    Well I want to know if anyone can please scan a software called GameBooster and tell me if it's freeware.

    When the program was released I had no problems with it but recently I've heard alot of people complain about their antivirus considering it as a malware/virus.

     

    Can anyone scan it for me and let me know if it was any type of malware in it?

     

    The program is from IObit and the version is 1.21..Program can be download in the IObit site or in majorgeeks.com.

    Avira didn't detect that freeware as Malware/Virus.I still used GB version 1.1 and worked pretty well. ;). I'd think it could be False Positive.

     

    what antivirus do you use ? Try to scan the installer of GB 1.21 with VIRUSTOTAL.

    How much memory does it use? I'll see if I can put it on my old computer.

    under 5,000K ;) But I had internet access after upgrading.Now,the problem solved.Unfortunately, I just downgrade to free SAS (without real time protection).SAS Pro had confilct with Avira Premium.With WebGuard activated,my connection more faster. :)

    Yeah I switched back to NOD32 a few months ago, I take my last comment back. It's worked out great. :) Avira is still almost just as good as NOD32 though. Only downside to the free version is that it doesn't have a webguard/shield type feature which NOD32 has.

     

    I just upgraded to Avira Premium.It also had WebGuard like NOD32,Ice. ;)

    Java

    I cannot download newest version of Java to XP. (error workaround is dicey at best). If I use CCLEANER to uninstall ALL older updates Runtime Environments etc. will I then be able to go to Sun website and download most recent version?

    yes, go to THIS.

     

    I recommend you,manual uninstall Java folder first.

     

    After newest Java installed, use JavaRa to removes old and redundant JRE version.

    could anyone pls suggest a good stable, lightweight Freeware anti-virus or security suite for mobile phones ?

     

    I need one for a Nokia E63 ( Symbian S60 OS )

     

    open to freeware that have both Symbian and Windows mobile 6.0 platforms ...

     

     

    What other security measures or maintenance ( the likes of CCleaner ) could be used on cell phones pls?
