  1. I'm still saying what my thread topic is. That is the users fault. Not ccleaner. With out a warning that particular user would of still messed things up.
  2. It's called a suggestion, so obviously does not yet have that function. CCleaner to be able to monitor browser process would be simple. Would require ccleaner to be running of course. Not all users are computer programming thinking. So what would seem like a good suggestion to running at system shut down, would be completely impractical and dangerous. They do not think about these things.
  3. Press delete accidental? That would be the users fault for having hide warning messages checked, and key word "There" fault. If warning messages is checked then ccleaner assumes you know what you are doing. Linux for example, it assumes you know what you are doing. I know very much what i'm, doing. I have that checked because i dont need warning messages.
  4. Have you checked the process (opera) is killed? Have you checked they are not flash cookies? applications - multimedia - **** or http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html
  5. Should include startup items. (deletion)
  6. ccleaner earlier tonight did not update startup listview after deletion of an item. Had to switch tab for an update. After restart problem stopped Odd (didnt think it deserved a new thread)
  7. #! been my main os for a good while
  8. If you're going to be in the crunch bang gang (err???) I expect nothing less then default wall paper ;p

    Suggestion

I sign into work every day. "I'm reporting in" Sign in, sign out is perfectly fine. Definition - To record the arrival of another or oneself by signing a register.
  10. I dont see the point. Browsers already have this function.
  11. How so? CCleane rhas no ability to uninstall any application other then invoking the own applications uninstaller? Unless you scan for left over reg keys?
  12. This basically, all thought i dont have MBAM real time.
  13. Just a minor inconvenience while using it. It's not evil. It has it's uses. Just needs to be moved to tools.
  14. Calling it a recycle bin would be very confusing, and terrible naming. Windows recycle bin is not used for backups. It has a restore option, granted, but it should not be relied on as a backup. I agree with the comments above about being hard to locate. A lot of inexperienced users would have a hard time locating C:\Program Files let alone application data. I dont really see the point or any benefits in the final option. I do agree that ccleaner should auto back up
  15. I personally would not have Spybot running resident. Tbh like a lot of people i think spybot has dropped down a few pegs over the last few years. Avast running on it's own is more then enough. I personally only have 2 of avast shields running. It's suits me to run it that way. If your system is slow have a look at what you are running resident. Just because something is offered does not mean you have to run it. It's your choice. The choice is there for what you need and you thinks best suited for you. Just because a cafe offers a selection to hopefully suit every one, does not mean you have to eat every thing. Because that would slow you down. (some cases)
  16. Which ever forum was raving on about WFS creating space are fools. I wont go into it since i see you have read up on it. Older versions from ccleaner did leave the temp file(s), or if the program was interrupted it could cause a large temp file as you said left behind. I do believe ccleaner now has been recoded to handle cancellations & unexpected closures. Roughly off the top of my head it was be a long very random char folder in the c: directory. If you are worried about where space is going download windirstat http://windirstat.info/ it will analyze where all the space on your hard drive(s) is going. Great tool.
  17. Really good deal? Norton? Being a better Anti Virus? Them words have probably never been said together before, and i suspect never again. Norton is a bloated resource hog "virus" in it's own right that could not detect and infection even if it was hanging out it's *** I would never install Norton on any machine, Let a lone part with my hard earned money for it. But this is off topic so i will end my post there. Current topic is Firewalls.
  18. If WFS is running, being a time consuming task, if the close event is raised while running CCleaner should alert the user to abort or continue.
  19. One more thing to add. I hate toolbars. The only one i would use is netcraft http://toolbar.netcraft.com/ It's an anti phising toolbar.
  20. I really do dislike firewall 3rd party software. I would go insain with all the accept messages

  23. Just to add to mr dons post on cleaning. If you're going to clean the machine, get stuck into it with a paintbrush and hoover, leave the power cord plugged in and nothing else. Make sure the mains is switched off at the wall or at the very least on the PSU at the back. This will make sure the PC is still earthed and will stop any static problems from your brush. If you can, get a high pressure air line in. Cans are not expensive. Do you have a lot of unnesserssery programs installed? Lots of toolbars? As said whats in your startup? edit: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/xpperformance/thread/1c786810-95a2-4d65-b734-e5efc5ddd9f9 Some information here also given on high CPU usage where the is no particular proceress taking up anything. http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistaperformance/thread/28a08ec2-db24-46f2-9388-1609e0a2c09d
