  2. Thanks for the info hazel! This is one of the best forms of passive protection .
  3. Whoa dude, don't do it. That's a huge waste of money - that computer isn't worth half the price they want. Edit: Look at this: Case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16811129024 Power Supply - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817153028 Motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813128012 Processor - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819115003 Memory - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820146565 Hard Drive - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16822148140 Video Card - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814130038 Optical Drive - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16827106073 Monitor - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16824009102 1326.78$ USD, that plus the cost of shipping.... If you need speakers/kb/mouse: Speakers - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16836119105 Keyboard/Mouse - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16823126180 1504.76$ without shipping.... ..to my house it's $1,557.84. I didn't even try to find the deals on those products and I spent almost five hundred dollars less than you, and it includes a 22" LCD/Speakers/Kb/Mouse, and most of all a decent PSU. The one that comes with a case is horrible.
  4. Airbrushing is meant to be done by hand, most automated scripts can't compare to what your mouse and eye can come up with. That being said, the only experience I have with it is in Adobe Photoshop.
  5. Yeah I'm not going to do it that way . It's not my computer like I said and if I can't do it properly it just won't get done (my buddy is on vacation and asked me to tune up his PC).
  6. hazelnut: The same thing. polster: Admin
  7. Firefox > Adblock > Filterset.G Modified HOSTS file Hardware firewall That's about it - I scan with AVG Antispyware and Spybot S&D occasionally.
  8. Probably around 400$, if you have it running well and have all your favorite software installed, 450$ USD. The video card is a huge kicker though.
  9. Whenever I go Start > Run > "services.msc", I get this: And no services show up (I want to disable the ones that I don't use). Does anyone know a fix?
  10. I live in sunny Detroit, Michigan, USA .
  11. I open a lot of .pdf files (e-zines mostly) and I haven't run into one that Foxit has had any issues with....

Race doesn't play a factor in who you can represent - it's about who you can relate to. Obama, I think, does have the capacity to relate to whites. I just don't have too much confidence in his capacity to be president :\.
  13. The Core 2 Duo is something that you don't really want to pass up on. It's a pretty amazing processor.
  14. That's cool and all but you don't need to be so, uh, tactless about it.
  15. You guys have -way- too much going on! Here's a look at mine - Take a look at this too: http://www.optimizingpc.com/optimize/windowsservices.html

If we don't elect Clinton or Obama, where do we have to turn to? Mitt Romney? Guiliani? Neither of them have the capacity to make their own decisions, let alone make decisions that consider what most Americans want. As stupid as it is, I would like to see Obama win on the basis that he's black, and I'd like to see Clinton win on the basis that she's a woman. Some sort of precedent to be set that relaxes our tradition of white male presidents. Now having said that, I don't want Clinton to win on the basis that she's too far moderate and too far concerned about the *next* election (2012) to be a decent president - to take action that will lead us to some sort of resolve. Obama... I don't know. He's inexperienced, but maybe since he's so young he'll be less jaded than his opponents. Perhaps he'll make decisions more abruptly, but ideally in [my] favor.

The GOP ticket for 2008 is pretty awful. However, the Democratic ticket is also pretty poor. It's a shame that the two people I think would make decent presidents are such a minority. Mike Gravel and Ron Paul seem like they both would make great presidents but very few people know who they are.
  18. It's time for something tropical while I prepare to age yet another year this month .
  19. My roommate doesn't have the, er, malware savvy that I do, so he's asked me to clean up his computer. I'm doing all of the scans, and Kaspersky keeps finding Spybot's backups and calling them out as malicious. I'm letting Kaspersky delete / disinfect them as it sees fit, but I was wondering if anyone else had run into this problem? Just a bit annoying, I guess .
  20. No disappointment, lol. If you don't want my bandwidth, I'm A-OK with it . I will take this moment, however, to brag about my host - asmallorange.com is quite excellent and if any of you are looking for hosting, it should be the first place you go to.
  21. @Targ - Spyware Terminator, though I am somewhat impressed by it, is distributed by a company (Crawler) with a rather sketchy reputation. I personally won't use it on the basis that they used to distribute spyware!
  22. If you're looking for any help with anything let me know (I have some web space and I've been doing web development for the greater part of six years, my services are free for any author of freeware).
  23. Why are people so geared towards having an active firewall and antivirus programs? There are better ways to prevent things from getting on your computer - a hardware firewall, your HOSTS file, Firefox/Opera+Adblock, Spybot's Immunize, and SpywareBlaster. Plus you could use a Sandbox if you really wanted to. Dunno, I have a slightly older computer and it outperforms most other computers because I don't waste any of my resources on background processes and services. I'm running an AMD Athlon 3700+, 2x512MB PC3200 DDR, on a plain-jane 7200RPM IDE hard drive - and my apparent speeds are much higher than people with more powerful processors and larger amounts of RAM and faster hard drives with larger caches because I'm very efficient . Just my thoughts.

    Scuba Diving

What do you know - I received my certification a couple years ago, and I've been doing it since. In fact, I'll be driving a few hours today just to go diving .
