  1. This is hardly bearable .
  2. Thanks for all of the replies, I just don't want to be recommending it to people when I shouldn't be . Maybe Crawler will pull a fast one on us in the future .
  3. http://www.petri.co.il/pagefile_optimization.htm The article explains what a page file is, how it works, and what you can do with it in order to see your system perform better Personally I haven't noticed any performance increase but it's worth looking at.
  4. There's a simple solution here.... ... just don't use WMP11 .
  5. I'm sure you guys have all heard of Spyware Terminator since its addition to the Filehippo antispyware page... I scan with it occasionally because it's so freaking fast and seems to be pretty good. I'm just worried about potential security breaches, give its reputation. What do you guys think?

    Woot!

You might take a look at Spoofee Deals' RSS feed, they usually have some good stuff .
  7. I currently drive a 1990 Toyota DX . The four-banger inside isn't very peppy, but the car is mechanically sound (for the most part) and that's all I'm worried about. Currently looking at a Honda Fit or a Toyota Yaris.
  8. Install Ubuntu for a while .
  9. I do believe it'll show up in a HJT log, if I'm not mistaken.
  10. As noble as the FOSS movement is, it's ridiculously pretentious.

    November desktops

KDE has been getting snappier with every release, with the next version I feel it'll be quicker yet. My desktop:
  12. Let me know how well it holds up, I've been looking at Vizio televisions too .
  13. Just... wow. It's spam regardless, the link in its signature is to a commercial website.
  14. .NET is a wonderful development platform C# and .NET are some of Microsoft's greatest achievements
  15. If the card is PCI, then it'll work finely.
  16. Er, I think the page_fault_in_non_page_area refers to a location on the hard drive, wouldn't it? The memory dump, sure, is from the RAM but the page file lies on the hard drive.
  17. Certain programs have dependencies on advertisements, however none of the programs that 'we' use here do. If you're just worried about the message that comes up when Spybot starts, it's not typically something you need to worry about. I would take a look at rridgely's malware removal guide: http://internetrotsyourbrain.com/rridgely/malwareremoval.htm

    TransBar

This is the developer's website... : http://www.home.no/aksoftware/ Looks like a nifty little tool that doesn't create an extra process - thanks!
  19. How's that third person thing working out for you?
  20. After disabling Defender and UAC, is Vista any more secure than XP? I don't know, personally my computer never gets anything anymore. I use a modified HOSTS file, Spybot's Immunize feature, SpywareBlaster, and Adblock + Filterset.G, and I simply don't ever get any viruses or spyware.

    Memory upgrade

It's not harmful, it's just an awkward amount, since RAM usually is 2^n (2,4,8,16,32), it's just me being picky. Heh.

    Memory upgrade

I personally couldn't stand the idea of having an odd amount of RAM, but I guess it depends on how long you plan on using that particular computer. If you're going to use it for a few years, then go for it.
  23. The caps lock burns my eyes :|.
  24. Nineteen here.... though I personally don't think age has much relevance these days. A few kids my age have (perhaps myself included) too much responsibility for our age. Others, on the opposite end of the spectrum, have too little.
  25. I also am a metalhead.... I'm probably too elitist for my own good, but I'm working on it . Alchemist Augury Borknagar Dark Suns Deathspell Omega Diablo Swing Orchestra Disillusion Edge of Sanity Khanate Monolithe Negura Bunget Shining (SWE) Si:gar:tyr Teeth of Lions Rule the Divine Some death, progressive death, doom death, and a little tiny bit of black metal.
