  3. AdapterWatch Uses about 5MB RAM default.
  4. Why Humans Matter Never thought I'd hear that one.
  5. LOL I looked at the Wikipedia page before you edited it to see if it mentioned the issues.
  6. I've used it to remove failed install remnants before retrying. Mainly Adobe.
  7. http://www.lopesoft.com/en/fmtools/info.html XP, Vista, 7. You can create custom menus. It's very versatile.
  8. LOL I remember that too. Vice City. My current avatar is a custom edit of my old one, which was a sign telling people to pick up their dogs poo.
  9. If there is an option to set the s-video out to composite or svhs try that. Is the converter a good one? The s-video cable may be damaged. this commonly results in B&W. you could try a summing cable between the laptop and converter. Basically it would short the 2 s video conductors. you could do this manually without additional cables too. If you decide to buy a summing cable you would need either a "female s-video to male s-video" or "Male s-video to female s-video". I'm not sure if a summing device would work here but they're so cheap it doesn't really matter. If you get a summing device that goes from s-video to RCA for composite video you would also need a composite to s-video adapter. Obviously your TV doesn't have a S-Video input but does it have a composite input? If so a female s-video to male composite summing cable would work. Or a male s-video to male composite summer(would have to be an actual cable with enough length).
  10. http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/Services/Indexing_Service.htm XP indexing seems to be bad too. XP at least try running ciadv.msc
  11. There is some performance gain, don't know how much. If you disable it be sure to also disable the service so you can gain some RAM and CPU. Indexing must access every file so you will reduce disk access too.
  12. Who told you not to join?
  13. For anyone that happens to run into the bug that causes the Adobe CS5 updater to complain about another non-existant instance (both using the automatic updater AND while attempting to manually install the updates) Post # 21 in the following topic solved it for me and others. http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Xpadder.shtml Xpadder (Last free version) 'Xpadder will simulate keypresses and mouse movements using a gamepad. Xpadder allows you to use your controller to play PC games with poor or no joystick support (including DOS games in a Windows DOS box and Shockwave/Java internet games). Here are some key features of "Xpadder": · Full keyboard and mouse emulation · Rumble support for capable controllers · Constantly updated controller database · Multiple profile management · Advanced fine-tuning options · Low CPU and memory usage' Very versatile. I use it all the time. Dasher - ' Dasher is an information-efficient text-entry interface, driven by natural continuous pointing gestures. Dasher is a competitive text-entry system wherever a full-size keyboard cannot be used - for example, * when operating a computer one-handed, by joystick, touchscreen, trackball, or mouse; * when operating a computer with zero hands (i.e., by head-mouse or by eyetracker); * on a palmtop computer; * on a wearable computer. The eyetracking version of Dasher allows an experienced user to write text as fast as normal handwriting - 29 words per minute; using a mouse, experienced users can write at 39 words per minute. Dasher can be used to write efficiently in any language. Dasher is fast and fun to learn. (If you don't believe us, see what users round the world say.) Dasher is free software. ' Click-N-Type - 'Click-N-Type is an on-screen virtual keyboard designed for anyone with a disability that prevents him or her from typing on a physical computer keyboard. As long as the physically challenged person can control a mouse, trackball, touch screen or other pointing device, this software keyboard allows you to send keystrokes to virtually any Windows application or DOS application that can run within a window. The Click-N-Type Virtual Keyboard is a 32 bit application that requires Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/Vista/Win-7 or later. There are other onscreen virtual keyboards around but you'll find Click-N-Type the easiest to use for getting text into those uncooperative places like browser URL "Address:" fields, Email "To:" addresses, Email "Subject:" fields, dialog boxes like "Open" and "Save As...", and many other problematic applications. Try them all. You'll see they all work fine while typing into Notepad or WordPad, but when you attempt to do some real work, with all but the expensive ones, you'll get really annoyed really fast. The Click-N-Type Soft Keyboard was designed with ease of use foremost in mind. Oh yes, it's FREE.' I'm using this right now.
  16. You would want to be monitoring the temperatures with Speedfan or such software as well as the fan speeds(with speedfan) to start with. If it starts repeatedly crashing you could also set the fans to run at 100% with speedfan. If that fixed it it could point to certain things like needing some new thermal grease.
  17. http://windowsxp.mvps.org/defaultbrowser.htm This one can set firefox portable as default as well.
  18. Yeah non native ports hardly ever work for motherboard operations.
  19. EPIC fail for Google.
  20. If the dell or possibly mobo site offers no new bios updates you're screwed. However if you want to get rid of your ps2 kb you could buy or make a usb-ps2 adapter for accessing the bios.
  21. no options with the words 'USB Legacy' or something like that? That is what Dells have in the bios.

  23. I can see how open networks can be automatically intercepted by the car, but accidentally stored? BS. If that code was not found by upper level coders and project managers someone needs to be fired (not the guy who coded the offending code). Besides the amount of data collected would have caused concern by someone in charge due to the size of the data needing to be stored.
