  1. Once you download this, what do you do with it -- what's the next step?
  2. Can anyone tell me if "Partition Magic" has the capability of creating an additional partition on an existing non-partitioned hard drive without destroying any of the data or content already on that drive? I am particularly interested in creating a partition for the OS (XP).
  3. Not sure if it got fixed with the latest update or not, but I haven't experienced it lately.
  4. Thanks, Andavari, for the info. Avira (at least the premium version) also has the option in its WebGuard to check for I-Frames. Guess maybe I should activate it .
  5. What are I-Frames? Are they a significant threat?
  6. There are many of them. PrimoPDF is not too bad.
  7. Haven't tried this new free version, Andavari, but I do use the most up-to-date version of Outpost Firewall Pro. Outpost is great -- I've used it for years -- have never had a problem with either the software -- or with an intrusion.
  8. Actually, I did reinstall, Dennis, but that didn't fix it either. I didn't uninstall first, just went over the top. Maybe an uninstall/clean install would help, but not sure it's worth worrying about all my bookmarks, extensions, etc.
  9. Gave it a try, Dennis, but it didn't fix the problem. However, as I mentioned, it is somewhat of a sporadic issue. I also have a workaround -- so I guess it's not a big deal. The biggest frustration now is just trying to figure out what happened to cause it.
  10. I understand what you're saying about security, but I'm not overly concerned because I run FF2 under Sandboxie (in addition to a firewall and A/V)
  11. I've tried Firefox 3, but didn't like it. IMO FF2 seems much cleaner -- much tighter -- just a better written app overall.
  12. I've just started having trouble minimizing Firefox 2.0.0.20. Maybe it's always been that way, but if so, I don't remember it. I click on the "minimize" button and the screen quickly blinks, but then it remains "full-screen." If I keep horsing around with it and clicking the buttons long enough, I MAY finally get it to minimize, but not very often. Any thoughts as to what might be causing this? I don't seem to have a problem minimizing anything else.
  13. Since my last post, I installed and ran LinkScanner under Returnil. Not sure I'll be using it. It's a little too involved for me -- considering what it does. IMO, simpler is better.
  14. If this app is effective, is the installation really a problem? I'm currently using Site Advisor 26.6 for Firefox, but many complain that it's ratings aren't always current and often it's not updated quickly enough. I haven't tried LinkScanner, so I don't know if it's any better -- but the "hype" sounds pretty good.
  15. For those who use Glary Utilities, have you had a good experience with it? I was thinking of installing it, but it seems to duplicate several apps I already have. Don't know if it would really add anything to my existing "arsenal."
  16. Same here. Sometimes I just right click just to delete a shortcut and I run into this problem. Hopefully a solution or fix will be found. I like AntiVir a lot -- except for this little bug.
  17. I've experienced the right-click problem a couple of times on my desktop. However, it's somewhat infrequent. For those of you who have had this problem, can you definitively conclude that it's an Avira related issue? One question about Avast . . . does it provide resident e-mail protection for POP3 e-mail clients? As I recall, it did not. I think that's one reason I went with Avira Premium. That feature has been a life-saver on a couple of different occasions.
  18. Well, that explains it, I guess. I knew it was there, but I was getting the same results Corona was getting. For the life of me, I can't figure out why it would be "selective." Oh well . . . the marvels of technology .
  19. Has anyone had any experience with Perfect Uninstaller? This appears to be a commercial program with a free demo/download. I have a couple nasty little apps that I'd like to get rid of, but they won't uninstall (I no longer have the installer -- or access to the install programs/disks). This app looks like it has a "force" uninstall, but I don't know how effective it is -- or if it would accomplish what I need to have done. I also thought that Revo Uninstaller had a "force" uninstall, but I can't seem to find it anywhere in the program.
  20. I thought for sure that Revo Uninstaller had a "Force Uninstall" option, but I can't seem to find it. Can anyone point me to it?
  21. If I were to upgrade, is it best just to use 3.5 and Framework SP stuff that MS sent through several weeks ago, or is there a "better" way of doing it?
  22. Any words of wisdom about whether or not to install Net Framework 3.5?
  23. A friend of mine was infected with Conficker. Will a standard install of MBAM or SAS remove it?
  24. Just what do you mean by "easily switchable?" Do you mean re-configuring your network connection settings -- or have you figured a way to able to toggle back and forth between them? I just switched to OpenDNS a few days ago for the same reason you mentioned. However, it also seems to have provided a little more stability -- and maybe even smoothed out a few little things that I've been blaming on FireFox. However, as I said, it's only been a few days, so I need to give it some more time before jumping to any sweeping conclusions.
