  1. Do you need both of these -- or will one or the other do?
  2. What the best way to view/monitor shell extensions?
  3. Actually, I've used Firefox almost exclusively for years. However, on rare occasions I go back to IE for some special "Flash" editing. Since upgrading to IE 7, I've run into some problems that never existed with IE6. So, my conclusion is that while IE7 is probably more secure, it might be a little more unstable in some ways. Not sure I'm even going to do this, but thought I'd just check on the feasibility of doing it.
  4. Will it roll back to IE6 automatically or do you need to re-install IE6 after uninstalling IE7?
  5. Is it possible to effectively "downgrade" from IE7 back to IE6?
  6. In addition to the basic Firefox navigational toolbar, I currently have three other "application" toolbars -- one on top of the other -- each on a separate toolbar line. I use these three all the time, so I don't want to get rid of them. However, each one only occupies about 1/3 of the horizontal toolbar space on each line. Is there a way to consolidate them so they are all in one single toolbar rather than three? I haven't figured out how to do this -- or if it can even be done.
  7. Same here, Dennis. As Hazel said . . . wouldn't be without it. The "nag" screen is a little nuisance, but not that big a deal. You get used to it!

    Windows Icons

That's good to know. I think you're right, the general "standard" for favicons is 16x16.

    Windows Icons

Thanks for the help and suggestions. One other question . . . can icons be fairly easily converted into "favicons?"
  10. In what file/folder are Windows XP icons stored? Also, are there any good download sources for additional free icons (XP)?
  11. Using ZSoft Uninstaller here. Then basically the same routine as JDPower using Revo Uninstaller to actually uninstall followed by ZSoft Uninstaller for cleanup.
  12. Thanks, Andavari. Actually, I am familiar with that site. I was just wondering if, by chance, anyone on this forum had used both of these apps -- and therefore had some personal "comparative" experience with them?
  13. Once you install Adblock Plus Element Hiding Helper, does it just do its thing like Adblock Plus -- or do you have to tinker with it?
  14. Do the Firefox add-ons Adblock Plus and FlashBlock do essentially the same thing? Can they be used together -- or should it be one or the other?
  15. Anyone have any "hands-on" performance comparisons between JKDefrag (free) and PerfectDisk (commercial)?
  16. Still using Sandboxie 3.28 here. Any real need to upgrade to 3.30?
  17. When using an unstaller such as ZSoft or Total Uninstall, you first run a "pre" Analyze/Monitor function before the installation -- then run it again once the installation has been completed. If you install an application that requires a reboot after installation, is it best to run the second ("post") Analyze/Monitor function before or after the reboot?
  18. I'm sure not a Sandboxie expert, but I use it 100% of the time with Firefox -- and love it. However, there are a few little setup things you'll need to do in order to capture any new bookmarks and any new legitimate downloads. Anthony can probably give you some help with this if you need it.
  19. Dennis, what exactly is the purpose of the BartPE CD? Is it a Windows boot (rescue) CD?
  20. How do you setup your e-mail client with Sandboxie so you don't lose your incoming e-mail and copies of your outgoing e-mail when Sandboxie is closed and the sandbox contents are deleted?
  21. You're absolutely right, Anthony, I hadn't been using ZSoft to its fullest potential -- or for the purpose for which it was designed. However, since my original post, I've started monitoring/analyzing all of my installs. So, I guess I'm up to speed now . I was just curious about one of Andavari's earlier posts regarding his uninstall routine. Wasn't sure why he didn't uninstall directly out of ZSoft or Total Uninstall. But it's been clarified now.
  22. Andavari, this subject has come up again. Please check out my post here from earlier today.
