  1. I guess that was one of my "big" questions. I thought maybe the Event Viewer files were included in the log files. Good to know they're not.
  2. Is there any significant reason for keeping "Windows Log Files" -- or can they be "cleaned?" If this item is not checked in CCleaner, what is the normal retention time for these files -- and/or is there a setting somewhere to change the length of time these files are held before they're purged?
  3. Thanks, Andavari, for all your help!
  4. Here's the contents of that file: This folder contains the information needed to install Internet Explorer 6. Once Internet Explorer 6 is installed and functioning properly on your system, you may delete this folder to free up disk space. If you delete this folder but later want to reinstall the product, you will need to download it again from the web site.
  5. Definitely several seconds slower for me -- 5 sec to 10 sec slower, in fact. I'm using Sandboxie 3.28.
  6. So, just to clarify, is this safe to clean -- or should it be left alone?
  7. My Sandboxed Firefox is rather slow in opening -- generally 13sec-15sec. Is this fairly normal when opening FF 2 under Sandboxie? Are there any setting tweaks to speed it up a little?
  8. Are there any worthwhile little utilities that can help manage and/or significantly speedup XP prefetching?
  9. That's exactly what I did. I used PC Mover to migrate from a Win98 Machine to XP. I checked out the dates on those files and they range from 2000 - 2002. So, I guess it would be safe to get rid of them -- right? Also, what about those other files in the "Windows Update Logs?"
  10. All of these entries are now on an XP machine. So, TwistedMetal, in your opinion, can they be deleted -- or should they be retained?
  11. Andavari . . . here's what's currently being displayed for these two categories. Would love your comments on whether or not you think they're safe to delete. Most of it looks pretty benign . . . I think . 12. How do you uninstall SiteAdvisor 2.8 in Firefox? My "uninstall" option is grayed out.
  13. Some other observations as it relates to SiteAdvisor 2.8 and Firefox: 1) When 2.8 downloaded and installed, it installed as a second instance of SiteAdvisor -- so I now have two: 2.6 and 2.8. It didn't replace 2.6. 2) The "Uninstall" feature for 2.8 is grayed out -- not sure how to uninstall it. 3) When I disabled 2.8 and enabled 2.6, SiteAdvisor works again -- even when Firefox is sandboxed.
  14. It appears that the new McAfee SiteAdvisor (2.8) no longer functions properly when Firefox is used under Sandboxie. Anyone else experiencing this?
  15. False alarm. Guess it's OK.
  16. Are there problems again today with SiteAdvisor?
  17. I currently have the "Winapp2.ini" add-on installed with CCleaner. In the "Cleaner" -> "Applications" -> "Windows" section, is it fairly safe to have the following two items checked for cleaning? I have quite a few MBs in both of them: "Windows ME" "Windows Update Logs" I have read through the code for each of these, but there are a couple of line items I don't really understand. Thought I should check before doing something I regret.
  18. Can anyone who has WOT installed rate sites, or do you have to be a registered member?
  19. Fred, also curious as to how favorably WOT this compares with SiteAdvisor?
  20. Anyone else experiencing any problems with McAfee SiteAdvisor today (Firefox) -- or is it just something on my end?

    StarBurn v. 10

I have plenty of rippers and burners myself, so I don't really need it. However, like you Dennis, curiosity might just drive me to have a look at it.

  23. Are you going to try updating this driver on your machine?
  24. I have a little program called Driver Updater Pro. It's a commercial product, but I think there's a free download -- just not fully functional. Supposedly, the driver I have installed is 4.0.1001.0 (07/02/01). The current version is 9.1.0.1002 (06/06/08).
  25. I currently have this driver installed on my Dell computer: Intel 82801DB PCI Bridge - 244E. This driver is several versions out-of-date, but everything seems to be running just fine on my XP machine. Can anyone tell me exactly what this does and how important it is to update it?
