  1. Have you tried using TCP Optimizer? It gets pretty good reviews. I used it on my machine about a year ago -- it seemed to help.
  2. Andavari, on your profile I noticed that you include a download for CCleaner Auto-Shutdown. Just what is that?
  3. Using WinSecret, has anyone made any "tweaks" that have resulted in noticeable system enhancement/improvement?
  4. Humpty, what settings are you using in the Windows Core section?

    Sandboxie

Thanks again, Anthony, you've been a big help.

    Sandboxie

    Where do you set that?

    Sandboxie

As a general rule, approximately how often should a Sandbox be deleted (daily, weekly, etc.)?

    Sandboxie

Once you've added a folder to "quick recovery," if you change your mind and no longer want that folder as a quick recovery folder, where do you find it and how do you delete it?
  9. Anyone had any experience with Win Secret?

    Sandboxie

One more question . . . When I open Firefox Sandboxed, how do I save FF bookmarks?
  11. I don't know if I can answer your question, but I think many of them are legitimately free downloads of licensed software. However, I suppose some of them could be 30-day Trial downloads. Quite honestly, I don't download that often from this site, so I'm not much of an authority.

    Sandboxie

A Sandboxie function question . . . If I have Firefox open under Sandboxie and happen to receive an automatic FF extension update -- what happens to that update? I assume the extension is not updated at all.

    Sandboxie

    Thanks, Anthony, for the info.

How do you set up other folders to be recoverable?

    Sandboxie

Humpty . . . per the comment from Hazelnut, it appears that you're pretty knowledgeable when I comes to Sandboxie. Maybe you can give me a fairly simple answer to this: If I have my browser open under Sandboxie, and I come across a site and an application I would like to download and install (or anything else that I might want to download and keep), how would I do that??? It seems like all downloads would end up in the "sandbox."

Thanks, Hazelnut. What about applications I want to download and install . . . and other such things?

    Sandboxie

I've read a lot about this program (Sandboxie) here on the forum, but I've never tried it. And although I understand the overall concept, I was wondering . . . how do you control what goes into the "sandbox," -- and what you do not want going into the "sandbox?" Also, what's the process for deleting/clearing the "sandbox?"
  18. I don't know if this will work for you Slowday, but started FF in "Firefox Safe Mode" -- didn't make any permanent changes -- and exited. Then I restarted FF normally and it cut my load time by almost 50%. Hope you have the same success. Firefox Safe Mode
  19. There are some things I'm not really liking about FF 2.0.0.13 as well as the previous version. If I download 2.0.0.12, can I just install it right over the top of 2.0.0.13 without having to uninstall first and then reinstalling?
  20. Anyone else noticing 2.0.0.13 opening a little more slowly than 2.0.0.12?
  21. Ya know, Dennis, that's me -- exactly. I really have everything I need, but curiosity gets the best of me -- and then the thinking turns to . . . just maybe some day??? .
  22. From your comments, Dennis -- and now those of Andavari, I guess there's no need to bother with this app -- regardless of its lofty price tag . I installed it (just to have), but haven't even looked at it. I also downloaded and installed BurnAware Home Edition when it was available. Everyone still satisfied with that one?
  23. Full version of StarBurn burning software. I haven't tried this, but it appears to be a very expensive app: StarBurn
  24. An interesting little utility for updating, backing up and restoring device drivers. Driver Magician
