Ccleaner deletes Start Menu entries

Hello everyone

I have a small problem, Ccleaner deletes the apps from the start menu, I've clicked away everything in the cleaner that pointed to the start menu, but every time I run the cleaner, the apps are gone from the start menu. If I restart the PC they are back. Maybe someone can tell me what could be the reason?

I once made screenshots of the settings in the cleaner

Although I can't be sure I would suspect it's something in those extended entries that you have.

Is that Winapp2.ini? or is it some other 3rd party extension?

I'm not sure if it's the cause of your issue, but I do know that Winapp2.ini is in the process of a makeover/update.

There have been a few glitches reported with the changes.

I found the culprit, it is the entry [Internet Explorer *] from the latest Winapp2.ini.

The merged FileKey4 is too aggressive, because it also cleans other cache folders that do not belong to Internet Explorer:

FileKey4=%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows\*Cache*|*|RECURSE

This folder, for example, should not be cleaned up:

%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Caches

It depends who you mean when you say "from you".

An asterisk next to an entry means it is not a standard Piriform/CClener entry, it's been added by a 3rd party add-on.

Winapp2.ini is the 'approved' 3rd party add-on.
