Dr. Ben
In the Operating System section, Speccy is reporing a previously-installed antivirus software package that was fully uninstalled using Revo Uninstaller, instead of the currently-installed antivirus software package. Why? How to correct?
Alan_B
fully uninstalled using Revo Uninstaller Obviously it was only partially uninstalled. N.B. If an Antivirus can be uninstalled by Revo it could also be disabled by malware.
Moderators hazelnut Posted October 6, 2012 Moderators Share Posted October 6, 2012 Dr Ben what operating system are you running? Which anti-virus is saying it is still installed? Did you run the anti-virus own uninstaller? Moderators Nergal Posted October 6, 2012 Moderators Share Posted October 6, 2012 did speccy ever fix the earlier "wrong anti-virus" issue I can't remember. This may be still a symptom of that. also speccy version? ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Super Fast
Why? How to correct? Start/Run/Regedit & press enter key. HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software Both locations may contain references to the uninstalled anti-virus. Look for the name of the program under both software caches. Current User = you Local Machine = all users
