Eldmannen
Hello I just went to the Windows Update website a couple of minutes ago, as I do from time to time. But now I noticed that it said "To get updates, you must first validate your Windows software. Validation assures that you are using an authentic and fully licensed copy of Windows.". It did not used to say that before, and it ask me if I want yes or no. Anyone else started to get it now lately too? I want to bypass it.
gunner
Can't bypass it, or I have had no luck. I have an os on one of my machines that was on it when I got it that is not legal. I checked with microsoft, and all you need to do is set for automatic updates and it will be done, legal or no. I tried it, and it installed everything including sp2. Can't ask for more. If it isn't broke, tweak it.
Moderators Andavari Posted November 23, 2005 Moderators Share Posted November 23, 2005 It gave me the validation message just yesterday when I downloaded the new version of Microsoft AntiSpyware, it then updated Genuine Windows Validation. Something else Microsoft has a website after you validate a download that will allow you to download some other Microsoft freeware.
Tarun
From what I can tell, the Firefox WGA plugin doesn't work on 1.
Eldmannen
Oh well, the site tells me that I can use automatic updates.
Tarun
Paste this in your address bar, and hit enter, before you would click Express/Custom: javascript:void(window.g_sDisableWGACheck='all')
Ultimate Predator
And that bypasses it?
Eldmannen
Ah, thanks, that worked. I did that many months ago too before, thought it would stay that way.
