duchess
When using CCleaner, in the "Applications" tab there is an entry for AVG 8. I do not have this program on my computer. How can I remove that entry? It is unchecked, but it still bothers me.

ishan_rulz
He probably did, someone who uses AVG here or is familiar with AVG's Registry keys? EDIT: he/she depending on the gender. Simplicity is hard.
Moderators hazelnut Posted October 2, 2010 Moderators Share Posted October 2, 2010 Probably a folder left in program files or a leftover key in HKCU/software or HKLM/software. ishan_rulz
Methinks CCleaner should be able to confirm left over folders/keys with the "Installed Programs" list; the only Pros to the current 'bug' is that we know that there is something leftover. I just removed the leftover keys of Adobe Photoshop CS4 last week after seeing I have both installed. Simplicity is hard.
Moderators Andavari Posted October 2, 2010 Moderators Share Posted October 2, 2010 Should be in the registry somewhere because that's where CCleaner detects it from. Try to find it here in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AVG HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Grisoft Notice: If you have other Grisoft/AVG security software installed make certain that you expand the parent key location and only delete the old version of what's listed, since if you don't you could damage other installed Grisoft/AVG software. Ok will do. I don't have any other Grisoft software at all.
