LuLu
I kinda figured it was a scam. In his original email he said he owned his own private accounting firm and then went into detail as to what I'd need and be doing. When I emailed him back asking for it's location and what the business name is, well, you saw what he replied with. Am self employeed and you will beworking solely as my personal assistance only and please do note that i do not have a website nor do i own web address,my business is solely owned and managed by me. If this were real, surely he wouldn't mind divulging the information I requested, correct? Ah oh well. I knew it was too good to be true. Thanks for replying you guys. I'm here. LuLu
lol thanks. I guess what had originally thrown me off was that the person actually replied back to me. Most of the scams I've encountered usually end up with no reply-back from the other person, since I do tend to ask a lot of questions when being contacted about a job. But oh well, I'll find something eventually. Funny part is that kind of job is perfect for me...especially since I just got a new printer for Christmas. I'm here. What are your other two wishes? Moderators Andavari Posted December 30, 2008 Moderators Share Posted December 30, 2008 Something smells like bulls**t. This alone is a smoking gun as you shouldn't have to spend a cent for employment, let alone some of the typos and "requirements" **Please note that the $50 you spend in purchased {Versa Check Gold2008 and Business check paper} will be reimburse to you along with your monthly pay. Moderators rridgely Posted December 30, 2008 Moderators Share Posted December 30, 2008 The grammar alone says stay away. If you want a stay at home job just inputting data for some company you should try to apply through their website. Only go with companies that you've heard of/know are legit. CeeCee
knew it was too good to be true. Thumb rule number 1: If it sounds to good to be true; dont believe it. And all that info you need to give... Wonder why he doesn't ask your socialsecurity number... Well, i guess that was going to be the next step. LuLu
Yeah I consulted with a few other people and they all agreed as well that it's a scam of sorts. I have heard of work at home ventures where you need to buy certain things (like some medical transcription jobs require a foot pedal and headset that YOU have to pay for, Mary Kay and Avon require you purchase their start up kit, etc), so I was hoping this was sort of the same thing. But when he wouldn't give me his business name and location/phone number, I figured something was fishy. I never would have given out personal info without researching everything first, so no problem there. Thanks again you guys. You all solidified what I knew in my gut. I'm here. Moderators DennisD Posted December 31, 2008 Moderators Share Posted December 31, 2008 Don't do it. When I win the Lottery, I'll give you a job. I'll dictate, and you can type my posts. Mind you, I'll have to open a Piriform office in your neck of the woods, even though dragging myself away from our lovely UK climate would be a bit of a wrench. Moderators Andavari Posted December 31, 2008 Moderators Share Posted December 31, 2008 Mary Kay and Avon require you purchase their start up kit, etc), so I was hoping this was sort of the same thing. They're two well known established companies though. There's so many scams going on nowadays, so you may also want to look at the Better Business Bureau for any complaints filed against a company to know if they're legit.
